Thanks. I got a Chimera. May take me a bit to get with checking it out, but as a previous Servarica customer it's good to be back. Storage plus backup MX(receive) and DNS use case.

  • How long does it take for the sever to deploy? Invoice 170242.
I purchased KVM Slim Slice 4. Can I upgrade to Fat slice 4 later?

250 Mbps +1 Mbps daily and I would love to buy ❤️

eventually will come to kvm as well
but there is a lot of code that need to be updated

    We are working on it

Is it possible to be migrated from Unified Slim to KVM Slim Slice?

yes but it is manual migration
so you will get new vps and you move your data to it

maybe those 2 days the team is flooded but in few days the team can help you with the setup
    just open a ticket

Is there any chance you could change a Polar Bear storage plan (2TB disk, no NVMe, 2G/2C) to this new Chimera base plan? Thanks!

yes open a ticket and the team will give you new vps and you handle the data move

Cores in KVM slices plans are dedicated but not pinned like in Xen (yet). That said, we always under-provision VPS total cores in each host (number of vps vcores is always less than the host total cores) , so you can safely use 100% of your allocated cores all the time with no congestion.

This applies to KVM FAT Slice Plans (Performance + Storage) and KVM Slim Slice Plans (High Density, Performance), but not Chimera Hybrid Plans (OS on NVMe, extra storage on HDD), right?

Any specific CPU policy on Chimera Hybrid Plans?

The attached HDD/storage is automatically mounted after reinstallation (by system templates), or users will do that separately?

not yet we are working on it
no ETA but for sure we will finish it

is it possible to add extra hdd to the slices?

on KVM now no but soon this will be enabled we are working on it

@servarica_hani said: Chimera pricing is intentionally low — we want users to try it and give us feedback on performance and stability. (later for new orders those plans will have 20% increase but who have them before will keep same old price)

Can we switch from monthly to yearly billing in the future and keep the 20% off promotional pricing?

you will get the price of yearly at the time of switching
but open a ticket and we will discuss
also not planning to return those to normal price within these 2 months so you have time to switch

Will the download speed be unlimited on both Chimera bandwidth plans as on the other VPSs?

    it is not unlimited now

checking if it is possible with the team

exact since the fat and slim slices cores are dedicated
in xen they are pinned so you get core 5 and 6 for example always ,
also no other service even hypervisor or OS process can run on those cores

in KVM if the server has 10 cores for example we accept VPS with total cores of 8
but they are not pinned , you could be on core 5,6 now and then the cpu scheduler decide to put you on 1,2 after a reboot
Also the host processes can run on the vps cores but since we under provision mostly the host will use the free cores and not touch user cores

We have a fix for this but it is not automated soon will automate it and apply it to all slices vms

Any specific CPU policy on Chimera Hybrid Plans?

they are shred cores , our normal policy is that we expect the utilization to be around 50% over long time , but cpu is not used much in storage plans so we go easy on the rules

The attached HDD/storage is automatically mounted after reinstallation (by system templates), or users will do that separately?

in KVM you have to mount the HDD manually
the instruction in the welcome email

in xen they are auto mounted

Would @FAT32 receive free FAT slices?
(limited to 2TB so it's compatible with FAT32 file system)

    @servarica_hani I need an answer :D

    enjoy your 3.2MB service B)

There. Fixed that for you by adding some labels, otherwise FAT32 won't know which one has the boot kernel of Servarica.

Ok great may trial for one month then switch to yearly if all goes well, that way it will be within the first month

  • i'll use it for my image storage, and curious if i need to reorder if i want to upgrade from 2TB to 4TB? or can you directly help me change the configuration?

  • I ordered a KVM FAT Slice 4 over 4 hours ago, still no processing. Hmm, it seem too long for a cloud provider

I understand. That’s why I tagged thodinh. I quoted you by mistake instead of his post and I was not able to edit.

For reference, my server was provisioned about two hours after I placed the order.

  • Thanks @jperkins and @fuqet. My order is now processed. The issue was due to the FR system detected my Geo-IP and address mismatch. It’s resolved. I ran a benchmark — looks good. https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/12509039
