Where's the 20G
Network is still slow for me. I can't reinstall VPS nor enable rescue mode from Virtualizor panel
For abnormal internet speeds, I recommend reinstalling the system via https://github.com/leitbogioro/Tools and https://github.com/bin456789/reinstall. In my experience, virtualizor images often have problems.
lol I tried to reinstall using https://github.com/bin456789/reinstall.
sudo rebootinside of the VPS, wait a few minutes it doesn't boot (?). Reboot from Virtualizor and then it booted back to Almalinux with slow network speed still. Welp.try this and wait for 15 minites.
Now it doesn't boot at all
Tried to ping it and it doesn't seem to be coming online. Well I'll wait for a few hours and try again. Probably have to open a ticket to fix this.
I'm sorry for this, I recommend it because I solved the problem with the script reinstall. It seems that it may be a problem with the backend configuration. it may restore to the original state by reinstalling in panel.
It's all good. The problem is I can't reinstall from the panel at all. It may be bugged to hell.
"There was an error in reinstalling the VPS" is not useful at all. And here I thought host providers use Virtualizor because it just works.
Had the same...
Reinstall Alma (don't know which version, try both), then enable rescue mode. This was the only way for me to get it back booting
Try this:

Do not forget to install and enable openssh in the chroot environment
I used fdisk instead of parted, care to set the boot flag
Care about your disk names (mine was vdb in rescue and vda after boot iirc)
I skipped creating a swap partition
Networking was a little trickier, I had to use ens3 instead of eth0
Care that ssh disables root password login by default, either change it in sshd_config or create a separate user in the chroot (did the latter)
Your VPS might be in the same state mine was after trying to install with that script. Rescue mode didn't activate and none of the OS options under install worked.
For me the solution was to mount an ISO from Settings -> VPS Configuration -> Select ISO -> Almalinux cuz its the first one and then move it to first in the boot order. Save, set it back to None, save again.
After doing this the VPS can be installed again from the panel. Classic case of pressing buttons 'till it works ":D"
I managed to solve this by shutting down the VPS and then reinstall, then it works (at least for ubuntu 24.04). But the network speed is still bad ...
Did you manage to install debian 12 and get good network speed like @Pilzbaum ?
Nope. I'm running NixOS installed on top of the AlmaLinux template and so far the speeds are still hanging in the 100-200Mbits region.
install deb11 and apt dist-upgrade.
works fine and fast.
I'm trying to get good network speed. I don't particularly care about the OS.
you should!
speed is fine.
@HostSlick I am still getting crap speeds:
I did! And the speed are still under 250Mbps. I think people who got better speed are just on another node that got upgraded. @HostSlick are you going to investigate this?
A friendly reminder that with storage servers, the I/O and network speeds will be poor for a week or so because everyone will be uploading their files to the server at the same time. Though these speeds are so low that it’s likely due to the poor network, but even if that is fixed, don’t be surprised if things are congested for some time.
Sure you're right send speed and receive speed are both f***** up cuz people are uploading files
Sure people are uploading files but it can't be THIS bad
Had and have no problem at all. Network is hitting 10 Gbps easily, storage is plenty fast. Transfered all my data already, still fast. I do not expect it to get better, rather worse when people start using it
Honestly one of the best deals I managed to grab in terms of price to performance ratio for my use cases. A tad more CPU could be beneficial but not required by me
Did you the use the provided OS image by the control panel ? Any special configuration?
I initially had AlmaLinux installed, reinstalled with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS - then 5 TB disk missing. Opened ticket and it was resolved within ~24 hours. Here's my YABS, not seeing slow speeds as others but as someone else in this thread mentioned it could be because they're on a different node.
No, used debootstrap using rescue mode (see my other comments) since no other image worked and my first yabs with Alma was not very performant.
While at Alma did you have poor network speed ?
So far, so good, it fulfills its function of media streaming plex + usenet for me.
@HostSlick 🔥
Yea its very Strange. Its Not congestion anywhere and all delivered at least are The Same node
I try something. I See Something was Changed in Alma 9 for the networking in The Kernel? As thats basically The First node/hypervisor i use alma 9 on itself. Should have done 8 instead. what a mess....
Im debugging, fixing and will Update Those via Ticket affected.
I also See it only Happens on some OS Templates.
I will do some Experiments with a Test vps and Change networking Driver and some Things to See If that fixes the weird issue
