also,is it normal that the latency to google.com is 8ms?higher than 5ms(although looks like every provider in Houston has over 5ms latency to google)

$13.99/year for 2C4G100G surely look exciting.
Shall we spend our last hostname on this one?

Looks like a good deal, though the yabs I'm currently running has been going almost an hour and still hasn't finished.

We're looking into why certain nodes are seeing degraded disk speeds. To be fully transparent, it might be the volume of VM's being provisioned. In the past our internal queue logic was slower and we didn't have as many concurrent VM deployments, so we didn't see this issue on Black Friday for example. We did however see deployment delays due to the task logic.

We've since overhauled the task logic and it seems as though things need to be reigned in to maintain a balance. We are working on some hotfixes although this should normalize naturally. It's frustrating and I apologize for the initial hurdles.

Disk speed on yabs actually seemed good:

    Generating fio test file...

fio Disk Speed Tests (Mixed R/W 50/50) (Partition /dev/sda3):

    Total 18.55 GB/s (36.2k) 24.38 GB/s (23.8k)

It took forever to generate the test file and my ssh session timed out during the gb6 test, so that ended up failing.

I'm sure today's deals are having an impact, so would probably be worth giving it a few days to settle out. I did finally get the gb6 to run:

    Full Test https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/12457759
    Multi Core 1572
    Single Core 866

An Epyc based system would certainly made it a killer deal.

A hardware refresh in on the roadmap, and eventually all current VM's will be live migrated over! A little over a year ago we were on HDD's and DDR3 for our base VPS line. We're trying to strike the balance between a bit more futureproofing and value. The goal is to maximize hardware without needing to touch pricing.

This year has been very turbulent on the hardware market, we've been focused on building up our Ryzen and M4 Mac fleet.

I missed something good, while I sleep? :) Like a $7/year deal VPS (what I was not able to grab in the last BF event).

Yes! The $7/year deal was when you were sleeping. :D

As usual.. :D :/ Soo sad..

The 10$/year deal include only 10GB disk quote (which is so weak :$), but the BF 7$/year flash offer included 15GB or 20GB? :)
