I was happy long ago during the age of username+password logins; the login forms would be automatically filled by the browser, it was fast and practical. Then the internet market grew, the stupids came about, and more secure methods became necessary. Now I often have to stand up from the chair, go grab a phone, turn it on and type codes and fiddle some more to login onto a computer webpage. To the point that avoid the pain altogether. My last login to the bank website was in April.

Don't forget to add the fact that almost nobody can code a phone app that is fast and lightweight. The app itself can take time to load up when you're already impatient and want to just log in already (Microsoft Authenticator comes to mind, though every 2FA app made by a tech corp isn't much better). Plus, better make sure to keep your recovery codes safe or else if your device catastrophically fails or you lose it, you lost access to all your accounts too.

There's also the fact that 2FA isn't always 100% secure anyway because scammers can proxy your login and your TOTP inputs to a legit login page on their end to log right in. If someone set up a fake HostHatch page and proxied my login and my TOTP, they would gain access to all my servers and I'd be none the wiser wondering if my computer or internet is borked.

Sometimes false security is worse than no security. I still use 2FA on everything anyway just in case my password gets leaked or someone manages to guess it, but I wouldn't consider it bulletproof by any stretch of the imagination.
