Hi Everyone!

I have dug deep deep deep to find a vps in a good price range and it has been tough 3 days of searching.

this is what I am looking for:

Cpu: 4-6 range. Ryzen-Epyc or maybe Xeon Gold.
Ram: 8-24 gb ram
Harddrive: SSD or NVME, minimum 50Gb
Price Range: 5-8 Usd/Euro
Traffic: unlimited minimum 100mps
usage: I am going to setup website manually
country/region: Prefer Netherlands/Germany, but Europe is OK

questions that will come my way:

  • Just get webhosting - Yes I Know, i Ring host, Hairy host, Hug me host on the radar. Namecrane has quality also
  • You dont need that specs, get something smaller for website - Yes I know, but I am planning to install Cloud or Fastpanel. They dont demand much, but still cover quite a bit depending on HW.

offers I already know:
Serverica
Centerfield
hair on ball host
chunkserve

Best I found so far:

kvm Xeon Gold 4 core and 16gb ram 150gb Ssd with 10gbps unl fair shared

8 Euro

Anyone have any better offer?

    You won't get 128 GB RAM for 8 EUR/month...

Some folks have been searching for their perfect host here since 2011. Some, as example the ancient LEB members who go all the way back to 2008 even longer!
And you're saying you're done after three days? What are you, a 20 years old influencer who thinks "hard work" means refreshing Instagram? Outrageous!

if you add 2 bucks you can get a vds from @SilverCreek in NL, they have amazing network.

Also check these for Turin, https://my.hostbrr.com/order/main/packages/anniversary/?group_id=59, these would be amazing for web hosting since it's the one of the highest gb6 scores.

I realized just yesterday that Oracle Cloud ARM has 4 times the memory bandwidth of my dual-channel Ryzen. I guess your mileage may vary.

I can use the Oracle VPS but I cannot login to the OCI console. I think I haven't been able to login in a year. The login / password recovery pages are broken.

@Lawballer We may not match every detail on your list, but if you're open to slight adjustments, we offer KVM-based VPS hosted in Amsterdam (NL) and other regions, with 4–6 cores, 8–16GB RAM, and 100–480GB NVMe.

Bandwidth is limited (8–32TB/month, depending on plan), but with a 1 Gbps port and fair usage policies.

Pricing starts from around $5/month or $4/month if paid yearly.

You can check available VPS plans at VSYS Host, or ping us in live chat for a routing check, or a custom setup.

Once upon a time i got a deal from @onidel
    They offered 4 vcores epyc
    8 GB ram
    180 GB nvme
    Netherlands
    for 6.6$ monthly
I guess you should check them once again

Note that Ryzen cores are almost x2 epyc cores ( dump and quick conclusion)
So you should be be more specific
As 4 cores in ryzen is almost 8 in epyc

I would suggest you go with @Alyx if you want to have ryzen vps, he would provide you the best deal for that purpose, i would even suggest you go with ryzen with less cores rather than epyc with many cores, specially when alyx provides the VMs with ddr5 ram

You shouldn't be seeking just the number of cores or the amount of ram GB
Seek for yabs scores as from my prospective i see it can give the real specs info and comparison rather than easily manipulated numbers

It's hard to make an offer that isn't totally oversold for that tight of a budget

I could probably do something like this in Frankfurt, Germany

    3 vCores (Ryzen 9 7950X3D)
    8GB RAM
    75GB NVMe Storage
    20TB Traffic
    2.5Gbit/s Uplink
    1x IPv4 + /64 IPv6 Incl.

    $8/month

Just send me a DM if you are still interested

I was happy long ago during the age of username+password logins; the login forms would be automatically filled by the browser, it was fast and practical. Then the internet market grew, the stupids came about, and more secure methods became necessary. Now I often have to stand up from the chair, go grab a phone, turn it on and type codes and fiddle some more to login onto a computer webpage. To the point that avoid the pain altogether. My last login to the bank website was in April.

Try another browser like Chrome. As far as I know Firefox stopped working properly with Oracle.

You could use KeePassXC and have TOTP + autofill in popular browsers via addon.

On Debian I have otpclient for the TOTP, it does save some pain compared to fiddling with a smartphone. I do these TOTP logins once a month or less anyway. The bank website is more bastard though and wants its own authenticator app.
