No, but the US is just as good.
I have been playing with crane mail for couple of days, but i face one issue so far.. Is there any way i can make spam email to land in junk instead of quarantine ? If i turn off quarantine it goes to inbox with notion spam, and that is not what i want.. Probably there is some option to tick but so far could not find it.. This mail test
XJS*C4JDBQADN1.NSBN3*2IDNEN*GTUBE-STANDARD-ANTI-UBE-TEST-EMAIL*C.34Xshould always land in spam but with quarantine is rejected and without it goes to inbox. There is reason for this as my 1st mail from yandex with simple Hello message got marked as spam and rejected, not even delivered to junk, and that should not have been the case..
You can add an override rule on incoming inside of SE that sets a new status and prepends a string to the subject.
You would then add a rule in SM to filter the tag to junk.

are you planning for SIN server? or which one is better for people from APAC the US or EU Location?
no.
Very unlikely to get into APAC for email. Vegas should be a good fit. We're working on adding at least 1 more bandwidth provider there, possible a 3rd depending on how things progress over the coming months.
Francisco
yes. canceld my fm plan after more then 20years. fm getting too expensive!
Could you explain more your use case? I’m using individual plan so far still meet my use case two personal domain and hundred of alias
The access speed to webmail is a bit slow. I have a VPS and would like to set up a relay to access webmail. Is there any way to improve efficiency? I tried using Nginx as a reverse proxy, but it either results in a 502 or 444 error.
What region are you in? Can you PM me a traceroute/mtr?
Francisco
I don't think its just you. EU webmail is also kinda sluggish to load pages
I’ll check if I’m missing something on nginx
could also be the CPUs are still in power savings mode.
Will look and report back.

Are the online calendars able to sync with android apps?
You can do caldav for now. We will integrate it into EAS once I have time to build out the backend.

-Is implicit SMTP receive filtering occurring?
Some email providers seem to discard emails with one word subject lines, even when the spam filter has been explicitly disabled. Could this be an example of implicit filtering?
-Can a wildcard subdomain catch-all address be forwarded to a mailbox?
Eg. is it possible to configure email forwarding for addresses like .domain.com?
Just curious, but any benefits to having a mail server in NL vs US as a US citizen? Are there any differences in privacy or whatnot or is it all in the networking speed?
I was having an US and got an EU plan. I am an EU citizen and on the EU plan it loads more faster in UI.
Are you keeping your US service?
Most probably not, I don't have any usecase for it if I'm having the EU LTD plan.
Hey, I got some questions (which I also used "contact us" on the site).
Ticket Created #CRANE-12426
Won't list everything as some are rather private, but here's some questions
I originally came from Cloudflare Email Routing (free) but it doesn't exactly fit my needs.
I got some questions that I hope can be answered:
1. Will I need to setup anything upon purchase?
2. Any region restriction? I'm not from EU (specifically Asia)
3. Does it have transfer-able alias/whole email OR have password per mailbox (which can be changed)?
4. Does it accept salting (+ or dots like gmail)?
5. Can I prevent specific emails (or ALL emails) from sending email out?
6. Can I set the GUI be simpler? I had email that used roundcube, and that pretty much covers my need.
7. Can I prevent individual mailboxes from uploading files at all?
8. Can I prevent individual mailboxes from accepting files that are too big?
I only really need the "individual mailboxes", "password change", and "receiving mails" to be exact. Sending is a nice to have (but also not nice if I have to control what other people used the email for).
9. Can I make individual mailboxes in bulk / one go? Or will I have to add it one by one?
If possible, can I also set the password together?
Thank you. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
Hello,
1) You'll need to configure your DNS records.
2) Nope, go for it.
3) Each 'real' inbox will have a user/password. Aliases/etc won't.
4) You can use
+.5) You could add a filter for it if you wanted (or we can do it for you).
6) The webmail/portal comes in one flavor. As discussed earlier we'll likely put up a roundcube install soon that will just connect to smartermail. A bit weird, but people want it.
7) Sure, you can disable file storage on a per user basis.
8) Sure, you can adjust the attachment size.
9) Yes, our billing portal lets you mass create users from a CSV.

@Francisco
(asked above but no reply)
-Any implicit filtering for incoming mail? or is it real pass through (when spam filter is turned off)
-do you support sub-domain wildcard mapping to a single mailbox without explicitly setting entry for each sub-domain
eg.
[email protected], [email protected] with MX of
*.domain.com(asterisk . domain . com) , can these go to a single box?No sorry on subs.
Francisco
@Francisco
Thank you for your answer.
How about the question about filtering?
Does your service provide real pass-through messages without any filtering? Some email providers do simple filtering like drop email with one-word subject or short messages like "hello", "test", etc. when the spam filter is turned off. Just wondering if your service provide real pass-through or does it do some implicit filtering when the spam filter is disabled?
Yes it’ll be pass through if you turn it off in spamexperts. Or you can bypass SE and send right to the node.

Thanks to @Francisco for getting Alist working.
I mounted CraneMail to Alist and enabled Alist WebDAV function. Then I could synchronize the notes in Joplin app to CraneMail File Storage.
Alist:

Joplin:

You can also use Nextcloud to do something similar. Or let AI write a Cloudflare Worker, mount FTPS, and provide Webdav.
Funky
our dev is looking at doing WebDAV but has been busy with life.
Francisco
How do you find Alist? Have you been using it long? I was looking for something similar to what it does and it looks like a good companion to the Cranemail storage.
