Why don’t you contact netcup support and ask them? Or just sue them
Already contacted, just interested if it has happened to anyone else.
Good
If my experience told me anything with Netcup, it’s usually because of the contract (minimum month or something)
YMMV of course so good that you’ve already contacted them.
using them since 4 month, never face like that, i used paypal, card.
Never happened to me with Netcup, but i think i had a similar experience with Hetzner. Since my storage box usage is under €5, they bill me every two months instead.
And yeah, on the invoice it looks like i'm being charged for two storage boxes.
thats so funny because hetzner literally bills me for 0.02 EUR and i always pay via paypal idk why thats worth for them to send invoices that small
Response from Netcup:
I find this really weird as when I signed up for the product it mentioned monthly term.
some products are monthly contract but billing could be different increments. meaning you can cancel without penalty but get billed every so often
Take a look at your contract details.
This sounds like a German provider kind of thing. Are they German by chance? Some German providers have horrible contractual terms tied to their services and will send you to debt collection for non-payment rather than delete the server. Always read the fine print before signing up and get clarification on how to exit the contract.
Low transaction amounts aren't very economical from a business point of view because of the fees involved with credit cards and PayPal.
There's a distinction between "contract term" and "billing term" -- these two may but need not be the same
For example, a typical situation is to have a contract term of 12 months but a billing term of 1 month (so one pays every month)
It's highly unlikely that netcup suddenly changed the billing term after you purchased the service, so my guess is that you missed this detail when purchasing it
Website says 1 month billing 🤷♂️
unrelated, but post yabs right now or send me in pm
What website says now is not the thing you "bought" so it could be different ;')
Take a look into first e-mails from netcup. Was there something like "extra SSD" promo or something and that changed the rules?
However I don't really recall netcup running 2 months billing period for servers.
It was not on promo when I ordered it, it was like a month ago and the page was like this.
Sounds interesting, I have been using their services for a long time, but never happened similar with me. I have a small VPS with them (terms: yearly contract, monthly payment), and I always get my invoices month by month, and I pay it manually. No issues.
You got one invoice with correct details, but Your card/PayPal got charged double? Or got one invoice with double fee (two month service fee)? Sorry it's not clear for me, Are You pay "manually"? Or 'PayPal subscription"/'saved card' 'auto payment'. I don't prefer automatic payments.
Maybe if it is the first invoice for that product, it is the initial month (post paid) and the next month (pre paid) they send an invoice on a specific date of month regardless of the start date of the service and for the future will then charge one month in advance.
However there is a tab on the product details within the controlnpanel, that will show the terms, of what you actually booked.
Just on a side note, of it comes with a 12 months contract term, you keep in mind that you need to pay for that period anyway and cancel proactively 30 days on advance and so on.
Make sure you understood, what you signed up for 😉
Go to CCP, click Products, scroll down to your product, tap contract details and you should see something like this:
