We can search explanations for the rare and often deals too.
To focus on concrete things (and everyone draw their own conclusion).
I started with OVH in 2022 with KS-LE-1 deals, I rented one server.
e3-1245 v2, 32 GB of RAM, 2x800 GB SSD and 100 Mbps advertised. I won the lottery with 960 GB SSDs and 1/1 Gbps over IPv6, 1000/100 over IPv4.
It was a quite strong deal, the topic and old members can confirm it, high number of users rented their own machines. There was other models but I remembered SYS-LE-1 with e3-1230 v6, 2x1.2 TB NVMes and 32 GB RAM. A late orderer got 2x1.92 TB NVMes on the server.
OVH repeated the KS-LE-1 deal in 2023 February with same conditions. 15 Eur without VAT, French DCs and interest was high too.
In 2023 they made another awesome KS-LE-1, advertised the server with 2x480 GB SSD, 16 GB of RAM for 12.9 Euros and provisioned a high number of servers with 32 and 960 GB, 1/1 IPv6.
In 2023 BlackFriday interest was less. Caused by the worse offers and higher prices. I grabbed a SYS-LE-1, they kept every detail except the NVMes that grown up to 1920 GB. They offered it for 30 euros and started to offer 500 Mbps BW instead of 250 on higher LEs (SYS-LE-{3,4,5}). After that they did not have any big promos, there was a few LE models in the year of 2023 and 2024 but I did not remember it well. They had a special SYS with 3840 GB NVMes and 128 or 256 GB RAM near 50--60 euros.
In 2024 new KS range arrived with the famous KS-A. Yes, KS-A is the crush. Everyone read comments about this server and it was a feeling to own it. Ohh, and other DCs than GRA, RBX arrived to the KS range, especialy LIM. The old SYS range moved to KS with cheaper prices. And do not forget about the new 300 Mbps network upload.
And the true thinking was started in this topic near Oct 30. OVH uploaded to the API the BlackFriday FQNs and the LE-{ABCDE} ones. From the availability API we can fetch the RAM and disk specs and the locations.
We saw that most of the offers locations expanded with SBG and/or FRA. (SBG is hot.)
And on November 5 the bigest offers was started. Stock ran out quickly, there was a high number of unprovisioned and pending, paid orders. Gambling was started but the true winning situations was on LE-B, e3-1245 v5 offered with 32 GB RAM and 450 GB NVMes x2 and lucky ones got e3-1270 v6, 64 GB of RAM and 1920 GB NVMes, or extra HDDs. Yes, old SYS-LE ones. If someone kept the SYS-LE-1 from 2023 or LE-3 (32/64 GB RAM) paid 30--40 Euro without VAT and lucky ones got a very big price reduction with lottery, these configs are only 10 euros for the lucky ones.
And scalping started too in this time, I and a few other LET members started to use the API to grab the most delicious deals. Lucky ones got unbeatable specs for this price where the weakest point was the network (1000/300).
BlackFriday was not as strong as the 11.11 deals but there was KS-LE-1 with 16/480 GB and lucky ones got 32/960 GB configs, with duplex Gbps over IPv6 for 10 euros. Here was a higher chance to win the lottery. with LE-B we do not knew about the possibility of lottery winning and late orders usualy did not got extra configs. The lucky time was November 6 evening, when LE-B appeared in GRA twice for one or two minutes.
The 2024 BlackFriday's weakest point was the high NVMe and SSD, it was cheaper too than in previous, especialy in SYS line.
And the next higher promo was the Mystery. It was a very unique deal and I think that we might have a few predictions about it.
These were the concretions and now my predictions.
In the current situation of the world OVH might want to be a big name in the EU. In this forum (except the scammers) there are a lots of hobbyist who have an IT-related job and with it, OVH need to convince them.
OVH offered 1 Gbps bandwidth and seems to be that their system can offer it without issues. I do not see problems about throtling, lag or packet loss on the servers.
They own these hardwares. I think that expensiver servers not for hobbyist and most of companys own their DC, use colo or use cloud.
Support is more better than earlier. In the previous years I always read here that slow response, can not resolve issues and I got a terrible experience too, when I wrote to them in English they responded me on Spanish language and the support man did not change the language when I asked. But now, I got quick response times and acceptable replies when I ask the support.
So it seems to be that OVH do not want to offer 10/10 Gbps, 3840 GB NVMes, 256 GB RAM and Epycs from 2020 for cents, but they realised that the border behind low-end and high-end servers are more and more wide and hobbyist can not invest more than 20--25 euros without WAT for a dedicated server. However if they got sometimes avesome configs in this range they will not cancel it and keep paying. And it might be more profitable than idling the servers.
And Mystery ones got avesome network but I can not confirm this on LE-1s. In the 2022 LE-1s I got 1000/100 and 1000/1000 IPv4 IPv6 speeds and I always experienced 920/920 Mbps over IPv6. When the 2024 BF started and they reoffered the 1245 v2 ones with 300 Mbps network the IPv6 speeds dropped, instead the usual 920 Mbps the average now is between 300-600. Seems to be that the old KS server network is not eligible for this speed. But as these are very old hardwares I think that as of RBX1 closure in previous, OVH will run out these configs and fill the DCs up with newer ones.
But do not forget. For 10 euros, LE-1 is still a decent deal. I swapped my lottery LE-B for Mystery as the weakest point of it is the 300 Mbps network. For me an 1245 v2 with unthrotled IPv6 is a higher value than LE-B with lottery. Except the 64 G/1920 G config but I only won the 1.2 TB NVMe and 1270 v6.
Or OVH might be acquired by another company and they want to produce the possible highest number of customers.
But I do not believe in it as OVH is the highest name in France.
so much text, but yeah, you are right for the view point of a private user like myself.
searched for a dedi after my long used hetzner auction box got its forced price hikes(from 24€ in several steps to ~40€) - made some excursions here and there.
thought i'd settle for a good normal KS, need something with a good amount of space for a good price, got the KS4 for a few months with 2x4 lottery - 21€ incl. VAT, it was good enough. then i snatched a nice LE-1 2x4 15€ incl VAT. thought i'd settle for this one. didn't like the 300mbit, but well, it worked for me.
but now lucked on the mystery, 28€ incl VAT for a good 6c Broadwell, 64 gigs, 2xnvme, 2x4 sata, and a 1/1gbit that can flatline so far, so i guess dedicated and it feels really responsive in me region, had worse. there is nothing even close to that for that price out there. i will treasure that piece of metal.
Hetzner auction 2x480 nvme with 1/1gbit network basically for the last year or so has been the best bang for the buck for ~30e + tax. So 2x480nvme and better cpu ovh for 23e + tax, let alone if one got lucky with ssd/nvme and 2x2TB or 2x4TB HDD combo is a killer deal.
Hetzner 2020 - early 2023 was GOAT. Still have my 5950x with 128GBs ECC RAM and 2x 3.84 NVMEs für 76€ (with 19% German VAT)
Giving it away for free — but hey, if you buy me a beer, I won't complain! EU account. Server from a sale. 10EUR/month. DM

I am interested... DMed you
Thanks for letting this gem go to the community. In terms of CPU not the strongest machine out there, but for that price apart from le-b a pretty big bang for the buck. I have started to migrate some shizz to a pretty similar server, so far I cant complain. Everything is Docker based: Nextcloud fpm, Nginx, Redis, Mariadb (could not get fucking Postgres to work, too lazy to troubleshoot), lldap, BookStack, Vaultwarden.
Most of the applications are isolated any only accessable from a certain IP. For services that potentially need some more bandwidth (e.g. Nextcloud) I enabled IPv6 / added a V6 network in the docker-compose file, my reverse proxy does the rest and I can enjoy the benefits of fast downloads.

How did you manage to get OVH IPv6 working on docker?
My setup is selfmade, I guess there are better options, if you want to to it my way you have to use docker-compose (though this is possible by creating a docker network from CLI too). This setup is made for a Nextcloud-stack with Nextcloud:fpm and Nginx.
Here is an example network part from my docker-compose.yml:
If you want we can get into this topic some more, just give me some details about your current system / setup.
looking for min 8 cores (e.g. EPYC 7351P, E5-1650 v4), 128GB RAM, at least 2x480 SSD, preferably 2x1TB or 2x500 + 2xHDD
Must be in EU region (e.g. GRA)
Reuploaded or freshly uploaded to the API a few servers. Kimsufi with 960 GB SSDs (probably the old e3-1245 v2), SYS and Rise with 3.84 TB SSD.
Interesting. The SYS-LE reappears again and again since last BlackFriday.
I don't see any. May be already updated.
new promo is coming?
Much love
Just saw that too, those i think are new.
