3,500 Chinese Yuan (CNY) is approximately equal to $480.31 USD

For that amount you could buy 3 to 4 complete PCs with similar or better specs, only the extra memory you'd have to buy separately and add it later. It's 10 years old consumer hardware that companies are getting rid of in bulk because it doesn't support Windows 11 even if it was poweful enough to run the modern apps (which it may be).

Did the 6.11 kernel and tweaking P/C-states not improve anything?
FYI, the 6.14 PVE kernel is available now as opt-in.

I've tested some time ago both Ubuntu Server 24.04 HWE (6.11) and PVE 6.11 kernels, with no major performance difference.
Since PVE kernels are based on Ubuntu's, I wouldn't expect big difference anyway.

Maybe high disk await times (because of the hdds) are clogging your CPU?

  • Looking for another KS-M. Having on in LIM already, I'd prefer this location but any other in EU region is good as well. Must be EU account. Please send a DM.

  • Super unsure if I want to keep my mystery.
Mostly fomo I guess, just won on ram anyways

To the ovh experts, how often does ovh drop stuff like this? Twice a year?

In recent years, OVH has offered fewer crazy deals.
But in recent months there have been a lot of great offers, so it's hard to say.

In any case, there will always be offers at OVH or elsewhere later on, so yes, if you don't use it, that's FOMO.

    Hey
No, the cache HDD partition is fully isolated. (No IO delay)
No significant improvements so reverted the changes.
I'll try the new kernel :)

In any case, whatever the hardware, I always get better performance with the debian kernel in a KVM machine than on the host with the pve kernel. It should be the other way around, but that's just the way it is.
I don't know about ubuntu, I don't use it much.

    But thanks for your advice!

Some KS-MYSTERY available at BHS in CA/World Account. The project I took them for failed, so will be giving those at $55 (64GB RAM) & $65 (128 GB RAM).
