You calculate worst case scenario and predict bandwidth usage upfront. Depending on hypervisor node density, you may need up to 100G burst to handle bandwidth generated by clients.
Some do network storage so that you will need to account that as well, some do HA so you will need to have more spare capacity, etc etc.
