How hard is it for providers to offer a 1G or 10G network speed?

What's the usual total bandwidth capacity do you need to make such offering? How much does it cost?

Then you shouldn’t need anything either, such as profits. In other words, hand me the VPS.

You calculate worst case scenario and predict bandwidth usage upfront. Depending on hypervisor node density, you may need up to 100G burst to handle bandwidth generated by clients.

Some do network storage so that you will need to account that as well, some do HA so you will need to have more spare capacity, etc etc.
