I am quite sure you are asking one for yourself too
Do I need a certification for this?
Talking about storage can anyone recommend me some good Bluray discs and drives for long-term archival purpose?

"But I'm a weeb, I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here"
No no I mean blank discs and compatible drives for offline archive purposes. Preferably with M-Disc support
I think would cos u a weeb like us

Long term archival? Nothing beats magnetic tape cartridges.

i had this bookmarked ages ago, has nice info on it
Ya but I don't have so much data, max 8-10TB and technically HDD is already magnetic so prefer optical storage.
m y im love raid 0 on 2 SD cards
if you have a couple of kidneys to sell for the drives then yes
What are you talking about, they are pretty cheap... Well the cartridges are..... But the drive.... Is different story.....
Blue Ray to the rescue i guess.
Not sure if it meets
Your purpose but I got a “Pioneer BDR-S12UHT”.
My purpose was ripping 4K UHD Blurays but and I ordered it from someone that ensured the hardware revision and firmware suited that (/MakeMKV). Has been reliable for reads, I haven’t done any writes but. Specs says M-Disk supported but.
Thanks for the suggestion, for me I am mainly after the writing, write speed isn't too big of a concern as it is meant to be cold backup, will probably add some error correction and verify the contents once a year
Proudly not weeb.

I’m in the 20%
... yet
Yeah, did a quick edit to add M-Disk are supported by it, but can’t really say if there’s something better for writes.
It’s also a desktop drive although I haven’t bothered to order a caddy or anything, just run it using a USB adapter.
so true
