I'm open to feedback on UX stuff :) Maybe we can hide a chunk of 'create/edit domain' page under an 'advanced' fold.

I had to click around to find my "Sent" folder. Turns out there is some collapsible menu toggle. Would rather the folders always be visible. Also, inline composer would be preferred over a popup composer :)

I got a request for that with them already, fingers crossed :)

For now my question was more for things in the cranemail portal inside of billing. I agree, there's a lot of nobs, so putting them inside a fold is probably a good idea.

@kooky said: I'm a bit puzzled by the DNS Setup Guide. The CNAME entries for webmail and the portal don’t reflect the actual subdomain I entered during the initial setup, though it does correctly request the TLS certificate for the actual subdomain that I entered.

This is fixed. It should now show your custom hostname on the DNS page. If you don't set one it'll default to mail.domain.tld.

  • I usually don’t respond to threads I can’t answer objectively. I’ve been with MXRoute for many years. I think I opened a ticket once when I upgraded to a larger plan. Other than that, everything has always worked and been very intuitive. Nothing against the other provider, but beating MXRoute is tough. Thanks @jar

  • TBF Lucy issue with mxr is still unbearable. So I am with crane.

why settle for one, when you can have both. A certified happy customer of both.

    migrated from mxroute to cranemail
mxroute is good, just because crane has clouddrive feature so I migrated
but currently cranemail US still has some connection issue to china mainland, makes me have to setup a selfhost reverse proxy until cranemail US connect with cogent(which makes cranemail US has same network like buyvm)

What's kind of connection issue? besides Mxroute, I would like to try Crane email too.

i am live in china, connection will route to UK first instead of route to US directly.in my windows mail app it will cause mail push delay, but works fine with thunderbird.so it might be a windows mail app exclusive issue

I asked them to do it as a modal "gmail style" :)

Hannan & I have been finalizing some changes to Cogent so we can finally get the Namecrane Vegas port setup. Once that's done I'll message you and we can tweak things :)

I won’t beg for anyone’s business, and I’ll only compete for reasons other than to make a profit. If you want the most resources for the least amount of money, MXroute no longer occupies that market position. But I’ll be working on MXroute until I die, I hope (and that it isn’t soon). I’ll be reinventing the wheel over and over again, because I think email can be so much better than just “what everyone else does.”

Just remember when you’re comparing a new venture to MXroute, you’re comparing a new venture to a business already at scale. Everything is easier and nicer in the beginning. It always is. It’s not a new concept here, a new VPS host with an empty node always outperforms the host you’d call “old faithful.” The same concept applies with support availability and quality, IP reputation, so many things. I won’t compare myself to someone else’s honeymoon phase. I hope they grow and scale beautifully, but I wouldn’t predict either way because I’m in the thick of it and I’ve seen what’s up ahead.

Hi @Francisco, would it be possible to add one more webmail client, Roundcube?

  • Hi @Francisco,

I purchased the lifetime deal on launch day with the expectation of using the platform as a replacement for OneDrive/Dropbox, alongside email. At the time, you had mentioned that similar functionality was in the works. However, I haven't seen any updates related to those use cases so far.

Could you please let me know if it's currently possible to use this service for personal file storage?

    Thanks!

It was never listed as a full replacement for that, it was more of a lite version.

Rclone supports already been built out and we've had it available for a while. We're working on FTP/SFTP.

The SM dev's are working on improving it (with what looks like the first bits of it landing in the latest version).
