Hello again. Will it come to the European Region. USA is too far away for me. Is it clear how much the price difference will be? Thanks, I'll just wait for now. Or not?
For the lifetimes the plan is ~$10 more. Could change, but shouldn't be more than that.
Our crate to NL got picked up earlier in the week. I'm not sure when DB Shenkers next flight to NL is, but probably today/this weekend. I figure customs will take a day or less, so, we should be racking by end of next week?
NorthC will take an afternoon or less to rack.
Francisc
politically it is escalating between the usa and europe. but @Francisco and @NameCrane stands for international understanding! very welcome!
Hey man, we're just trying to sell pro-crane and pro-crane accessories here.
If we can make the plans work we'll offer them, to whoever/wherever.
I get it. If it doesn't make much difference, great.
NorthC will take an afternoon or less to rack.
I'm in no hurry. I can wait a couple of weeks, no problem.
I know it's unlikely, probably infeasible but I'd absolutely be first in line for something in APAC if you decide to venture a crate out this way.
US is fine but is a wee bit far as well.
Can't wait to order! Have you considered taking preorders?
Prefer not to hold your money without giving you the product in a reasonable timeframe - stuff can happen.
We sent plenty of gear, there won't be any stock shortage issues or anything for the foreseeable future.
Yep.
I've always frowned at pre-orders since more than a few times the host doesn't even have the means to offer it yet and needs the funds to maybe pay for hardware or to rent it, etc.
Only way i'd maybe be OK with it is if we had a set in stone go time (nodes racked, we're just making sure the fridge is stocked with enough Coke Zero's, etc), but even then.
We've been working at this for a few months now so we're excited to see it go live.

So 1st of April has passed, NL will be launched soon, the price increased to... what?
Mikes the final say on that but I’ve proposed a $5/250gb increase instead of $10.
So, $69.42 becomes $74.20. To continue the memes.
Francisco
You may now update the price because i has just upgraded my 2000G to 3000G a few minutes ago.
By the way, somehow the upgrade was successful but the payment was refunded automatically, if you wish I could rise you a ticket.
Hahaha go ahead please.
Francisco
Looks like your first attempt got blocked (& refunded) by.card company. And then you approved it or whatever, then 2nd went through.
I don't see any refunds recently other than that.
i'm curious, how much is time difference of email sending/receiving for somebody live in europe when choosing US server instead EU one? or is it regarding transactional email only, not in general? i still dont get it
~120 to 150ms?
Please don't buy Twitter. kthxbai
Okay, I just checked with my transaction history, there were 2 authorizations, and the 1st was cancelled. I did tried to pay the order 2 times, at the 1st time the webpage didn’t load when I pressed the pay button and F5’ed the page and tried paying again.
Email send/receiving times would be similar.
Some people prefer EU because of GDPR protection offered to EU residents in that location. Not sure if US government entities can snoop in EU/US locations since NameCrane is a US company, but just remember that most email non encrypted so there are easier ways to intercept than raiding service providers.
@hyperblast and @COLBYLICIOUS both hate the idea of a EU-based service and have no interest in ordering one
oh ok, good to hear that,
a second or two delay wouldn't be a problem for my used case
The fact that the price is still the same, even though the deadline is 1/4, LOL
When I drag the email from another mailbox, if it is classified in each mailbox, it will be more neat and easier to find
We were expecting the crate to have been in NL a couple weeks ago and we were doing the price bump with the EU and affiliate launch.
with that, people win out on shenker being shenker.
Francisco
It's not an eu registered company so what protections do you expect?
Being hosted within EU ticks enough for most.
Francisco
Well a lot of eu companies breaks the gdpr so i dont expect compliance with an outside one.
Plus the gdpr is not the same in each .eu country
We aren’t going to be plastering gdpr compliant on the site until we likely get a 3rd party auditor to make sure I don’t fumble something simple and get fined out the ass.
We will work towards it
Francisco
extremely gratifying!
indeed! fvch teh EU!
