Which self hosted controlpanel are lightweight but also performance oriented?

Hi guys,
I’m looking for a Linux control panel (Apache or LiteSpeed Enterprise)—Nginx won’t work for my use cases.
I’m specifically searching for non-SaaS control panels. Cost isn’t an issue. Ideally, I prefer non-Docker setups (running bare metal here, so I need full performance without overhead).
The setup will host high-traffic e-commerce sites, and I’ll handle the tuning myself (Apache, MySQL, etc.).
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
- TinyCP: Not bad, but it seems like a dead project. Too risky for production usage.
- ApisCP: Decent, but the file system layer architecture is overly complicated. There are also minor limitations and a few too many bugs popping up in releases.
- CloudPanel.io: Don’t even mention it—it’s Nginx only.
- Plesk, DirectAdmin, cPanel: All of these are bloated with unnecessary features. Default deployments don’t offer good enough performance. PHP is compiled with so many modules that there are noticeable performance penalties compared to options like TinyCP or ApisCP (measuring raw, non-cached page loads).
Last but not least, should be "shared hosting friendly" (limits like cgroup, jailing etc)
I’ve tested at least 10 others and still haven’t found the right fit. I’m hoping you can point me in the right direction or convince me to reconsider something.
Let me know your thoughts!

Cyberpanel works well but has mixed reviews
https://1panel.pro/
dont really know about "shared hosting friendly", but overall this is a good panel
edit : fastpanel is also better, its fast somehow
Checkout hestiacp, works fine for me been using them from past 3 years without any issue.
if you don't mind, aapanel is good.
however it's from China, i know someone don't like it
Enhance - they have cut the Docker element now and it matches your requirements.
HestiaCP is kinda good, dunno about prod.
Keyhelp
I have yet to see a use case where nginx can not replace apache.
Have moved away from apache to nginx and caddy long ago.
Apache had its moments but people should move away from it now in my opinion.
Little credit is given to Virtualmin.

Enhance or Fastpanel would work for you.
SPanel - https://www.spanel.io/
ExtraVM/@MikeA uses it.
Lowkey
Already mentioned, but Keyhelp is awesome.
Might want to try Server Avatar.
Paid : Enhance
Free : HestiaCP
Very happy with Enhance. And its $5 a month if you have less than 30 website containers.
+1 for enhance.
Cyberpanel is a joke, not even fit for hobbyist.
We need a poll.

Have you tried KloxoNG?
Very friendly CP, installation is super simple, see:
https://kloxo.org/install-kloxo/
Works only on RHEL 9 (Almalinux 9 or Rocky Linux 9).
I think that CPs that are installed on RHEL are much lighter than on Debian / Ubuntu OS.
Regards.
Thanks, but No.
This name I've heard like 10+ years ago.

A sad story but who to blame?
The user ofc
I didn't write this for you., I wrote for @lowprofile
I find it funny that as soon as you hear the name KloxoNG you stand up on your hind legs.
On the other hand, you give us links that were written in 2009.
KloxoNG It has nothing to do with that event dude. KloxoNG has come a long way
@lowprofile I recommend the Kloxo Next Generation panel. It has a very simple and friendly interface.
admittedly the logo and website are so bad that i figured the interface would be total ass because there are also no screenshots to be found. do you happen to have any screenshots?
