can i put your p0rn on @CharityHost_org hosting ?
lol
this is really make me furious about privacy on LET
he keep defending himself by putting reputation
this privacy breaking is destroying your reputation
you have no right to scans your client data unless it is malware or something that might be threaten your server. by this case, all have seen that @CharityHost_org will look on your files whenever they want
Stop attack them
No. Breaking rules, terms, and laws are. Right?
How did you know he was breaking your rules? Answer this, you coward.
Keep dodging the fucking questions
to quote @CharityHost_org from the thread the previous screenshot was posted:
excuse me LMFAO
Violating his privacy AND giving him blue balls?! That's some wicked, evil work there.
You need to privacy to secure illegal porn too? All our customers have privacy, security, and data is safe. If they break rules, privacy to break laws, rules, etc on our systems go away. If you cannot trust your host with safeguarding your LEGAL material, honestly, why do you trust them at all? But that's not the case is it? No, you are looking otherwise obviously.
Bro, how the fuck you know he store porn in the first place if you are not violate his privacy ?
you don't even need a root password to view someone's files while you're the provider
If your peanut brain is able to read.
HOW. DID. YOU. KNOW. WHAT. FILES. HE. WAS. HOSTING. ON. HIS. SERVICE?
AND WHY DID YOU SNOOP THROUGH HIS DATA?
Answer the questions, or is closing your threads and f'ing off the better solution in your peanut sized brain?
It's the first time I'm seeing somebody recommending not changing passwords.
You are not answering the main question. Did you receive an abuse report, or were you just randomly looking at people's data?
I'm just trying to give the benefit of the doubt here,
maybe there's a language issue/misunderstanding at play here? Because if not that is definitely my new favorite quote
And how would you know that unless you looked at his private, non-publicly-accessible-whatsoever content? And what tipped you off to look at the OP's content over all your other customers' content, or do you "sample audit" all of your customer's files? I didn't see anyone mentioning that the content was shared with the rest of the internet.
In most jurisdictions, it's illegal for a landlord to walk right into a tenant's home without giving advance notice or asking for permission, regardless if they have the keys or not. If a landlord walked right into a tenant snorting drugs, the landlord (you) will be prosecuted, whereas the tenant's "crime" may be dismissed as inadmissible in court.
Just because it's "your house" (your server/network) doesn't give you authority to barge in unannounced.
Either you think all pornography is illegal (which would be dumb but not something less I would expect from you), or you're implicitly accusing @bdspice of something grave. Which one is it?
It is not the job of a provider to police users content, especially if it is not publicly available. You should respond to abuse notices. You cannot just actively search through clients material without any cause.
That is a huge violation of trust and privacy.
The big question that you seem to avoid is why were you suspicious of this user to begin with? Did you really have a legitimate reason? You might very well have, but then you need to state this as otherwise it seems like all content hosted by others clients is subject to privacy invasion at any time with no probable cause.
I mean he's actively avoiding answering those questions. If he had a legitimate reason he would just say that, right? Otherwise they just mess up their reputation for no reason.
I believe he means "pirated porn" not illegal porn as in under 18 porn
@bdspice said the files were obtained from public websites.
I have anxiety with this, my parents barge in unannounced, because I live in theirs.
This guy CharityHost give me the exact same feeling.
Which proves my point
"data is safe my man"
I always hate to assume the worst, but it is indeed not a good look that it wasn't answered already.
What law is broken here. Tell us.
Not arguing against your point, just pointing out a possible language misunderstanding, I don't think anyone is implying the porn itself was the bad kind.

its very clear now if i were a customer of this host i would
chargeback yesterday
We gucci, that remark was towards the host. I think we're all on the same page here.
If he answered that question he'd be directly admitting that he looked at the OP's files (no matter how you spin it).
Yeah, trying to be rational but I can't think of any other reason to snoop through a customer's files short of legal trouble.
