Ticket #CRANE-10072 and thanks!
Hit a snag... While in the portal, I clicked on the three dots to the right of the domain name and clicking on either "Manage users" or "Manage Aliases / Forwarders" yield this:
"Oops!
Something went wrong and we couldn't process your request.
Please go back to the previous page and try again.
Error: Call to undefined method GuzzleHttp\Exception\ConnectException::getResponse() in /home/namecrane/public_html/modules/addons/cranemail/lib/Connectors/Smartermail.php:1136"
There was a transient failure for me too - seems to be good now though
Correct! All good now
Should be sorted at this point.
Smartermail was acting up some. Decided to update to the latest release while poking it.

So to answer my own question here, I found using an alias for the email configured in the certificate didn't quite work for me. So I had to resort to using a real mailbox, which is no big deal. An added plus is I can simply enable / disable the account (one-two clicks) instead of deleting and recreating the alias when it's needed again
Problem solved, me happy
Hello. Is there any way to access storage right from the Windows computer? Can I use it as an external storage to access files? That will be very convenient. Thank you so much
Yes, with our rclone extension - you can get a version with it integrated here: https://github.com/namecrane/rclone/releases
The 1.0.1 release allows for the mount function on Windows/Mac - so you can have it as a folder on your local machine or whatever.
Thank you very much!
but switzerland is no longer in the running as another option, is it?
Switzerland is where BuyVM is going 100%. Racks are ready, bandwidth contracts signed for the move. Hannan already has nodes built and shipping soon, or already shipped.
Namecrane will be NL, but we'll also send a handful of shared nodes to CH for those that want it. We won't put mail there.
That help?

only your rclone extension works or can i use also mountain duck (https://mountainduck.io/) which supports this protocols:
FTP
SFTP
WebDAV
Nextcloud & ownCloud
Amazon S3
Google Storage
OpenStack Swift
Microsoft Azure
Microsoft OneDrive
Microsoft SharePoint
Dropbox
Google Drive
Box
Wasabi
Backblaze B2
Local Filesystem
that would be very advantageous if it worked, then i wouldn't need an extra extension of rclone
It doesn't support WEBDAV yet. Soon, but no ETA.
Francisco
SFTP?
Just browser or rclone.

Is it possible to encrypt mails similar to that of, lets say, proton? Sorry if this has already been asked.
Our webmail doesn't support that, but if you PGP your emails in a desktop/mobile client it'll pass just fine.
Francisco
But the mails are stored encrypted at rest?
I mean, your clients the one that’s encrypting it, we don’t see any of the body unencrypted, no?
But yes everything is encrypted at rest.

@Francisco @NameCrane Patiently waiting for the EU side, I wondered if you plan to ever do hosting lifetimes, or are you sticking to just email?
Hello, @Francisco, i want to ask if it is possible to download/backup all the emails for all the accounts per domain.
thanks.
We'll never do lifetime on hosting. Email's a lot easier to do it with due to the low CPU load. Websites/resellers/etc are a dumpster fire when it comes to that. I've spent the last few days working on the new Offload SQL control panel instead of other projects just to try to fix the heavy load on some of our shared servers.
You could do it with imapsync but there's no way to get an archive or S3 upload yet. It's on the TODO menu, one of many things that are. Sorry about that.
Francisco
thanks for the response, I want to do a backup of the whole domain's mails every week, for example, also the single user's mail password can be changed, so can't make a backup on every single account.
thanks
Best case would likely be to wait for the S3 stuff or request the passwords from your users.
The S3 stuff is very unlikely to run every week. The target is once or twice a month, depending on total data we're pushing.
Francisco
Thanks for the reply.

On Live Demo :
When I click New Email to compose an email, CraneMail will open a new tab, and it takes +/- 14 seconds to complete the loading. Tested five times and all have similar results.
Do you have setting to open the Compose menu within the main page? Just like the Autoresponder Menu but for Compose email. It takes almost instantly to open this menu.
Fyi, my location is in Jakarta, Indonesia.

@Francisco what does it mean?
Did you configure a backend? That would be my guess.
Francisco
I have to test if the demo has gzip enabled, I thougtht it did. I know that was a huge issue during our beta and I had to spend some time getting NGINX all happy.
