Yes, we can offer 1TB SSDs as well. It's not part of what we offer through our standard order form though, so you'd need to open a support ticket and we'll create the custom quote and order for you.

Good to know. Also if I have multiple ISOs that I want to switch between, do you support that?

  • @BrianHarrison said: And here is the MTR that you requested:

Thank you so much for this.

@BrianHarrison said: Yep! We mount custom ISOs specified by our customers

Perfect, I may go a different route, ESXi is no longer available, I will plan for Xcp-ng or Proxmox instead. Thank you

Sounds good! We are happy to mount any custom ISO of your choosing and provide IPMI connectivity if you wish to provision the operating system yourself.

Yes! We do support that as well. We can't mount multiple ISOs at the same time -- only one at a time. However, any ISO that you want to mount, we can download it on your behalf to our local network file-share and mount it. Our local network file-share will have the lowest latency for the ISO mount and provide the best ISO performance. Then you'll be able to proceed through the OS installation using IPMI.

Thank you for the deal. If I order a second server, can you setup a private network between them?

  • BrianHarrisonBrianHarrison Member, Patron Provider

We do often setup private networks for our customers with more than one server, but it's handled on a case-by-case basis. We own server cabinets in two different datacenters (both datacenters within the Westin Building in downtown Seattle). For us to create a private network linking your servers together, your servers would need to be in the same datacenter. We can arrange that, but it helps if you reach out to us ahead of time before placing your order for a second or third server.

Once we setup the private network, the traffic sent between your servers is free.

Please let me know if I may answer any other questions, thank you!

Inventory update! We currently have the following servers available on this promo pricing:

    2x RepriseZZDED
    1x RepriseEEDED
    2x RepriseGGDED

Thanks for the detailed information. I will surely follow up with you before ordering the second server.

Is this promotion applicable even after your current servers are sold out? I am inquiring to make sure that I get the same discounts once I order the second server.

We do sell out often on available inventory for this promo and inventory amounts do change frequently, but if you're willing to wait, we maintain a wait-list for our servers. Generally speaking, if you place an order for a sold out server it never takes longer than a couple days for the necessary hardware to come available.

  • Hello, I ordered back on the 23rd. When should I expect the server?

What's your order number? I'll take a quick look at the queue.

I know we've had a few backordered server orders recently on our sub $30 offerings, but I believe all of those orders should be setup tonight (within the next ~8 hours).

Your order is scheduled for setup this evening. We have a new shipment of 4TB HDDs arriving sometime this afternoon that will be used for your server setup. We will be sure to adjust your service start date so that you receive the full subscription period that you've paid for. Thank you for your patience!

We typically setup servers within 24 hours of receiving payment (as stated in the original post).

I took a look at your order history. You placed your order 10PM on a Friday night (Seattle time) and then asked for a refund less than 13 hours later. Your refund was issued within 45 minutes of your refund request.

What kind of raid controller will it have, software or hardware?
    HDD is new or used?

Greetings! We do not offer hardware RAID because it relies on proprietary controllers that can become obsolete and difficult to replace, which increases the risk of data loss. Modern software RAID, on the other hand, not only offers greater flexibility and easier maintenance but also delivers performance comparable to—or even exceeding—that of traditional hardware RAID, thanks to the power and efficiency of servers with dual multi-core CPUs.

Years and years ago, software RAID used to be too computationally expensive and it impacted the performance of the machine. Hardware RAID with dedicated processors solved this issue by offloading all of the work. Nowadays, for most use cases, hardware RAID doesn't make sense anymore. Even Windows software RAID is good enough for most applications.

My apologies -- I forgot to answer your second question. Our HDDs are a mix of new and old. However, all HDDs undergo SMART and benchmark tests before they get recycled. HDDs are the most likely piece of hardware to fail on a server so we take care to ensure they're in good shape for new server setups.

I looked up your ticket and it appears that it was answered within a few hours of it being opened. In the future, if you need a faster response for power cycle requests, feel free to open the ticket as an emergency ticket -- you'll typically receive a much faster response time than a tech support ticket opened as medium priority.

Also worth mentioning: if you want to be able to power cycle your server on your own in the future, then please feel free to open up a support ticket to request the provisioning of your IPMI access. Once your IPMI is setup, you'll be able to power cycle your server whenever you like, access the IPKVM, mount ISO files as a virtual CD-ROM drive, etc.
