What tool should I use to convert 15 years worth of attachments? Name one?
I don't think I've sent an email to a single person in that time that had an issue opening large attachments.
CRANE-9732
ty Fran
It’s more sending them to other hosts.
Anyway, I’ll bump you.
Francisco
Yes on the license. It's a pro license that can be used on 3 devices (windows/mac) and you can plug whatever accounts you want into it.
And yeah, you can remove/add domains to your account.
Is 600 emails/hour enough business emailing needs?
I have some domains exceeding 1000/hour... so these offers are not suitable for business emailing?
Are you sending 1000/h to external domains or is that internal? You can ticket and we can increase on a per domain basis, we just need info on what you’re sending.
Francisco
sounds promising. maybe i should open a ticket once i have ordered namecrane europa... you know what i mean.
He's already answered this several times before, so this comes off as badgering.
I like this behavior!
I also consider your answer to be harassment.
They lost nothing in us increasing domains on 500g+ plans. They’re just going to press on it and then probably get sacked by Karen at signup time for one reason or another.
They keep at it non stop all the time that we are more likely to never do it just out of spite or to say we give in and they keep it up for whatever the next thing is.
If they asked once and let it be it may have already happened.
Francisco
Less and less common. Nowadays, in business, if you can't do 50MB, it generally reflects poorly when two of the other companies in the email thread don't have such issues.
Looks like Microsoft 365 is 150MB and gmail is send 25MB and receive 50MB. I suppose 25 would be ok so long as Receiving 50MB was there.
Mike increased to 50mb which is the SM limit for now. It used to be higher but they recently tuned it down since almost no one accepts it.
Francisco
That says more about you than me.
i admit that would have been cleverer. well, never mind.
hay,
@spamfilter
Will mx1.mxfiler.net stay in UK? Will there be mx3 in NL?
We think for gdpr reasons to move it to NL. Then we can set it up so all incoming and outgoing email happens within EU. You would have to set the Mx records to region specific ones, but it’s on the list of possibles.
Francisco
Common sense? Oh, sorry, if you had that tool you would not have this problem.
If you sent a 150MB attachment to me I would have no problem opening it. I would open it in notepad, print out all the pages, staple them together and fucking slap you in the face with it.
aren't you a ray of sunshine. a deck for a €800Mn LBO we prepared last year was 22MB. but three revisions included in a .ZIP pushed the attachment size up
if only more billionaire bankers were young hot blooded IT pros like you i wouldn't be forced to attach-on-email
anyway, thanks @Francisco. all sorted now
If you knew me you would know that I'm closer to a billionaire banker than a young hot blooded IT pro.
Actually, young IT pro's are usually the ones that try to email files. People that has been around for a while knows that that is not what email is for.

Guys, take it elsewhere.
Thanks,
Francisco
...
So is this for everybody now?
Yes, it should be globally applied.

I am very green in mail handling. I don't understand the difference between US and EU
If I have some domains and what I want is to be able to receive/send mail using them
What is the difference between having an account in the US or in the EU?
I can't make rclone work reliably neither with Kopia nor Duplicati. I'm sad.
Mail will load faster for you in the EU if you live nearby.
Gmail, MS send from the US, so will take 300-500 ms more to deliver mail to your inbox.
Outbound mail deliverability is nearly the same, except some marginal mailboxes block EU (while allowing US), but you will unlikely ever encounter them.
In some cases it's legal. Some countries have laws that say that your information can not be stored outside of the EU or in some cases even outside a certain country.
Also, lately a lot of people is kind of hesitant to deal with the US at all, things being as they are.
