i recently learnt of a small island micronation by the name of palau
then found out flights there from brisbane is roughly $250 USD each way
very tempted to go for a little island holiday to some country with a population of 18,000

The only thing i knew about Palau is .pw

isn't that a big piracy domain? or was, havent seen it in a while

I mean, at least when it comes to private trackers, I'm not sure I've ever really seen this used in piracy.

At least not on any level as much as any other ccTLD or even gTLD.

while looking at my search history I found out I owned a couplef .pw :D they were 0.6$ on spaceship a while ago, that's why it looked familiar

Fun fact, you can apply for Palau citizenship if you own a .pw domain

as an actual serious note for this, the unofficial and potentially illegal reason they offer this is because it provides a loophole for KYC when signing up to crypto exchanges.

Becoming a Palauan 'Digital Resident' grants you a Palauan digital ID which you can use on most crypto exchanges to hide your identify and true residency location (for very obvious tax reasons)

You explicitly do NOT get a passport or residency to Palau with this and it cannot be used to immigrate to the country
