Yeah, driver things are definitely something to worry about. It's likely best to wait until it comes out and listen to see what problems people are running into, if any. Then make a decision from there, likely with cheaper sandy bridges, as @Kairus mentioned.

@Kairus I agree, Ivy Bridge will be nice, but it won't be anything revolutionary. @lele0108 Depending on what you want to do with it, an AMD Bulldozer 8 core plus a ASUS Sabretooth motherboard will cost about as much as just the Core i7 2700K CPU. Depending on what you want to do, it might be an option worth considering.
I read the reviews on the AMD Bulldozers, and they pretty polarizing. People are hating it, and some are loving it.
Mostly, people hate it for gaming, so that might turn me away from it.
I actually was considering bulldozers myself, but, from what I read, they still were outperformed by Intel for gaming. I'd definitely recommend an i7 2700K over anything AMD has to offer. Not to mention, Intel apparently provides amazing thermal compound. XD
@lele0108 What titles are you playing? If it's mostly for gaming, then the CPU won't actually be your limiting factor, your GPU will. What resolution?
BF3, MW3, Skyrim. Basically, FPS, and games that require good cards. Probbaly going to pick up a GTX 560.

I think that's just a rumor. Besides that, though, it's not like they could tell. If it breaks, you just tell them you were running it on 1066.

@lele0108 Unless you get the GTX 560 with 1280MB RAM, get an AMD HD6950 2GB, it's a much better card.

lele0108 Which motherboard did you get? Also, if you have it in the budget, get the 2600K or even the regular 2600. The 2700K is just a repackaged 2600K...

The i5 and the i7 is a $100 difference, that's a lot.
The i7 has hyperthreading, the i5 does not.
Ordered the i5, don't think I need it, and as Fran said, I'm not heavy into editing.
The CPU was bundled with a free copy of Rage. Since I already have the game, I'll raffle it off to somebody who helped me on this thread, just to say thanks.
@lele0108 I would have picked an ASUS board, but that's just because I'm biased towards ASUS. While it's a nice board, don't push the overclocking to hard as it doesn't have the same VRM circuitry as a $300 board for instance. In my workstation I use a 2600K on a ASUS P8Z68-V Pro motherboard, and I have never needed to overclock it. I guess that for what I am doing, an Intel Atom would have been enough

o.o How was newegg slow in this situation? If I were you, I'd get the i5, and put that extra $100 towards a GPU.
They processed all my orders except for one, which I understand, considering I used Paypal, never used their site before, and just bought around $600 worth of hardware.
Thank god, once the order is processed, there is no cancellation :P
I'm going to rethink it out, and chose tomorrow morning. Won't delay me, the RAM doesn't ship to me for another five days, while everything else goes through in two.
@lele0108 We deal with NewEgg allot for our hardware business, and I can tell you that you can actually refuse receipt of a package, and you will get a full refund. Also, if you need to return something that's defective, do it via online chat, ask for NO restocking fee (be nice about it) and also ask for a UPS return label (again, be nice). Just a few tips:)
Wait for Ivy bridge, it will cause the prices of current CPUs to drop. Then get your suggested system
