I just don't think you should put a bit of blame on a provider if customers are that way. There will always be a number of customers reacting in this way, or "i want a restock", "please please I want one too", etc. Should that keep providers from giving out good offers too? There is a benefit for the provider for a pre-sale, I can definitely see that.
No no i'm not blaming them, I'm just saying it's part of the risk they took when doing preorders. I don't think @DeluxHost did anything wrong.

This has nothing to do with broken promises (yet). 7th March: offer with a lead time of 2 weeks, 12th March: "I can't wait". Perception management: all time before 21st March delivered is bonus, 21st March: on time, 22nd and after: "I can't wait"
Most likely 2weeks turn into smth more (hope not)
