Ticket for opening SMTP port - questions from the hoster
Some hosters will open SMTP port by request. Otherwise - with a few questions. One of the hosters asked me these: "how many emails per day/month", "are your users aware that you'll be sending them ...", "are they consent", "is there unsubscribe link".
For the moment, I want to send transactions emails only. Sometimes cold outreach emails as well. Not a lot. Let's say, a few dozen ... under a hundred per day.
Later I may begin to send a newslatter as well.
Some of the questions are even impossible to answer at this stage, because there're no proper users. For now.
How to safely deal with this bureaucracy? To avoid blunt lie, yet give me some room, make it more generic and on the safe side.
And I have no idea whatsoever about the volume, per day, per month. What if I give them a number which, later one, may turn out to be too low?

If you sign up for many other delivery services, such as Amazon SES, you'll be required to submit plans as well, even more specific plans. If you cannot answer in details, or, say you'll send "cold outreach," it'll be a straight rejection.
I see no problem when a provider wants to keep their IP clean, and it's good to know that the email provider I'm using has certain procedures in place to keep their IP clean.

You haven't understood my question. I didn't ask how to set up MTA, or how to find a way to send emails from VPS.
I asked how to answer the questions from the that particular hoster.

I obtain the email address eg from sign up to news letter on my website, placing orders, company partnerships for marketing.
If you try to tell lies to a provider 99% of the time it comes back, bites you on the arse and because you also lied to the provider from the start they have more chance of tell you to move on and keeping your payments and probably listing you on sites like fraudrecord and a few others.

I simply don't understand why you couldn't be honest with the provider. It's like you are asking us for good lies to tell them and throwing away anything that's too honest.
You were being recommended a third party mail service because even if you answer those questions to their satisfaction, complaints can be received leading to disrupted service. This is not some kind of contract to your benefit, it might be used against you as documentation to close out your service.
On the other hand if they don't accept your answers this would be the only solution.
I assume you don't use the term "bureaucracy" in a negative light because there is an entirely valid reason you are being asked those questions: liability. Answer honestly, describe your projected needs and don't spam.

But even with a hundred emails, you can easily end up in Spamhaus.
If you're not doing this professionally, it's better to use Amazon SES.
