wait there was NL storage deal??!?!

    What deals did I miss?

Just one (after an almost 15h).

    VDS 1 and 2 88% off [Qty 2]

I was too slow as usual I very smartly and politely declined from participation.

I was hoping for a more fairy tale ending, especially considering how long the die hard crowd kept singing GCs praises and asking for deals (wait a minute... you were there all along, nice try).

I thought we'd all get a no-holds-barred-all-existing-stock-in-BF2024-category-must-go kind of a deal (with the usual coupons without any reusability restrictions) along with a side of Hibiki.

Alas, that was not to be.

All we have been offered is a wishy-washy "live Mega Giga Thread ... post codes for free services ranging from 1 to 6 months .. try our great VPS ... share your feedback... won't be any recurring insane deals"

I was initially relieved and thankful that I can restore my health to better redundancy and touch the grass and all that. I tried to doze off and I got a nightmare that something was posted so I came here.

I am relieved that it was only you. I'm also upset that it WAS only you.

I am definitely experiencing serious withdrawal symptoms from what has been a fairly regular dose of dealanadrin. I need to go find some copium and (yes AND) Cope-a-cola...

I'll be back and I hope you'll stay around. I seriously need dealz therapy deaddiction like minded company.

Frankly , I was also hoping for some fairy tale kind of ending, _not no-holds-barred-all-existing-stock-in-BF2024-category-must-go kind of a deal _ , but kind of 30%-40% Off on budget packages, which would bring the price to $9-$10 for them.
Personally, I am not buying small packages, but I see that these small packages are quite popular among users here.

Since, my mouth is full from the generous giveaway, I am keeping quiet ! :D

Even after buying two BF-2024-1 packages, one 4GB Ryzen and one VDS at 70% OFF, I badly miss that 88% OFF VDS, particularly because the VDS I bought is not Genoa (flash sale skill issue).

But, All is well that ends well ! Long live GreenCloud ! Long live LET and long live our idlers !

Guess it's a matter of Give & take. I got some cheap deals and then paid for a big plan as a result of FOMO/impulse buying and later find no use of it ๐Ÿ˜‚

    Among them is a BF2024-2 (8c/32g/250g) ๐Ÿ˜‚

I kind of feel bad for not getting -2 package instead of -1. Either of those servers is enough for me to cancel my 2-3 other idle VPSes by other providers.

But the question is, would you cancel the other 2-3 idlers?

    @UnassignedIP what do you need

No, I didn't get a VPS from GC at all (I never have had one although saying that I am quite new to this game). Its a classic example of always waiting for the perfect deal, when even the standard BF 2024 plans would be miles better than the regular ones available now.

Plan and location wise, I think that I wouldn't 'need' anything bigger than the 6666 plan although that doesn't mean I wouldn't accept it. And I seem to have ended up with loads in EU/UK and none in APAC/US so if there is a choice I'd be leaning towards outside EU although anything would be much better than nothing/a regular plan.
Regarding the use cases I have a few in mind:
    1. To help run and host some of the open source projects I have created to help the wider blind community. I won't link to them here as doing so would almost certainly lead to a whole lot of my personal information, but I'll assure you that they are already popular and helping many blind users across the world with basic tasks that otherwise would have been pretty much impossible. If you'd like I can DM you a link but will not share publicly. I need a reliable provider that has both IPV4 and V6 for this hence why I was looking at GC.

    1. For hosting a few other hobby blogs / websites that don't really have anywhere to be right now.

    2. For network monitoring / as a Tailscale exit node / personal VPN (more of a secondary use case but nevertheless not to be discounted).

i have a 6666 in San Jose. is that OK with you?

it is non transferable, but i dont know if green boss can make an exception.

Yes that would work great. Let me know the outcome if you ask.

@NDTN if its OK, i would like to transfer one San Jose 6666 to him even though it is non transferable as a giveaway.

@NDTN I am willing to pay the $10 transfer fee if needed.

The deal was there with no double promo, where I forgot to pay invoice because I was looking for new deals.

It had AMD 76xx something good cpu, around 1300 YABS single core. But there was no NVMe so whole system ran on HDD, and it was on SolusVM (don't know if it's deal breaker or not). 2 CPU, 3 RAM, 1 TB package was like 22.5 bucks per year with 50% off deal.

  • It's my dilemma as well.

    Will you replace this

    • 4c/6g/100g + 500g external storage with very low latency (hence almost a local external disk)

    with

    • 8c/32g/250g (no storage attached)

But then I'm hosting immich and nextcloud alike services so big storage is kind of crucial here, 250g doesn't seem to fit the bill.

I thought there might be some more puzzles of sorts to solve to get the deals, which would have slowed uptake in the moment but might have been an interesting experience. I still think that the deal another prvider posted a while back (forgotten which one now) with a purposefully vulnerable website to hack was very cool.
As for me getting deals on pure speed is very hard, especially when they're images and have to go through OCR before I can even get the all-important code.

There were quizzes though, and deals that did last for like 10 minutes so if anyone was really trying they'd get at least some of the good deals.

Not if they couldn't register for the client portal until about 23 hours ago :(
Maybe I should have mentioned it earlier, but I am often of the opinion that companies that use these sort of captchas have them for a reason and won't be in any hurry to remove them. But @NDTN proved me wrong on this which was great. And I couldn't raise this via ticket, as the Submit Ticket page also had that image captcha for not logged in users...

Did you get a VPS from GC ? Can you state your purpose of required VM ? I do have 1-2 idlers which I am going to put on giveaway . May be you can get one of them .

    @NDTN an exception maybe? <3

Maybe allow VIPs to transfer service out?

Sir the VIPs are a lot

If you compare to the total user base it could be just 5% no?

Most of the time if you offer public exceptions, it brings in more demand and trouble and double standard questions.

So better ask these kind of things in private and get declined anyway.
