Just running nws.sh script on AZ Storage and

Frankfurt, DE 135.03 ms 1.0% 2.41 Mbps 2.74 Mbps Clouvider Ltd - Frankfurt am Main

Not sure why my up/down to Frankfurt is 2 Mbps, weird.

I think someone once suggested i change the tcp congestion algorithm to google's bbr? and it worked maybe try that?

I'm not a network doctor, in fact I'm a network faith healer so don't take my word for it

Thanks I forgot about that bbr thingy. I will ask chatgpt to get some network optimization info also as I am noob at it.

    Should be fairly easy.
    I have it bookmarked somewhere.
Iff only I could find this type of stuff when needed

Managed to switch bbr, but my IP is rate limited with all these test servers, will wait for an hour to get updated results :D

    Hehe
    Yeah let it cool down.

Debian 12? I noticed the rebuild image provided was doing the same for me in some locations, can't remember which -- I started installing from ISO so not sure if my original issue was ever resolved.

Edit: see if Debian 11 does the same, you can always upgrade from there if you don't want to install the OS on your own.

I had this same issue with their Debian 12 image on my only GreenCloud VM with SolusVM. Disable apt-listchanges didn't work.
All my other VMs with the VF version of Debian was OK. And the Ubuntu images on SolusVM was also OK, so I just changed to Ubuntu on that specific VM..

@FAT32 report to provider or just bad luck?

The Greencloud Debian image is broken, they have a 'fix' on their site: https://green.cloud/docs/how-to-fix-update-failed-on-linux/

You can fix the error by running the following command

    $ mv /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/20listchanges /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/20listchanges.bak

If I remember right, after the initial upgrade you can move it back without issue. But not sure.

You need to disable apt-listchanges so you can reinstall python3.11-minimal, since it is corrupted on whatever medium greencloud is installing from. Reinstalling fetches it from a Debian mirror which takes data integrity more seriously.

Thanks for all your replies, @admax I didn't have that exact line I don't think, but I disabled everything in that file, reinstalled Python, enabled everything in the file again and now everything works, apt update and apt upgrade all done

Thanks everyone & @admax - I guess I'll have to do the same on my second GreenCloudVPS

@NDTN maybe worth looking into fixing the image if it's bad
