I did, but this isn't looking good. It's like watching dominoes fall down.

    14 POPs? Sheesh.

Hoping the NY migration doesn't impact my BuyVM stuff that has a filtered IP.

  • which datacenter is dumb enough to let them move there?

This scheduled maintenance affects: Europe (Amsterdam, Netherlands, Warsaw, Poland, London, United Kingdom, Frankfurt, Germany), North America (New York, United States, Chicago, United States, Dallas, United States, Los Angeles, United States (Equinix LA1), Vancouver, Canada, Miami, United States, Los Angeles, United States (Coresite LA2), Kansas City, MO, United States), and Asia Pacific (Singapore, Tokyo, Sydney. Btw it’s every other companies fault. Path did nothing wrong.

Yes they were planning on taking their entire worldwide network down at the same time while doing upgrades. Why is anyone even questioning this?

they'll need a lot more than one DC

  • so these guys routinely just won't pay their bills and the solution is to actually move out instead of paying their bills? Who the fuck would want to provide colo to them after round 2? what a bunch of shitbags.

Welp, there goes the use of our Fiber line from our datacenter location to Equinix Frankfurt.
Sad that you only notice this through the status page. Now sitting on a fiber line with no use since those have long contract times.
We didn't get any update where the new germany POP will be located yet as well.

  • that's a good technique, I'll be reclassifying all future massive outages caused by my own mendacity as "planned maintenance"

  • the only way path can recover from this is just to launch some memecoins.

but they did that some years ago right?

  • I got banned for complaining. while they have their bots sending cat memes.

  • Just watch how situation unfolds. Big whales still not sing, path is holding them tight... If they didn't find another DC(s) which could lend them a credit - there will be lambo and house selling.

I think a better question would be how much popcorn we could buy with $300k.. I think we can feed each LET user with that money.

On a serious note, it's sad seeing another provider deadpool. I think the events that unfolded last year were enough of a warning for its customers to pack up their bags and leave. Now with a repeat of these same events, I doubt Path will be able to recover.

They will recover or sellout. The brand is strong.

    It gives me Burst/Volumedrive vibes.

Volumedrive when they migrated away from Burst Over unpaid invoices and suddenly left away 400
Servers because (i Think?) Access got locked

It was in The year 2013 i think

Haha, i remember this drama. Things started to get bad for them in 2012, and as I recall, things got really bad at the end of 2013.. :D

Maybe when Path will close its doors someone would buy that domain and make it a path construction business :joy:

This isn't the first (probably the third) time of these kind of unpaid bill dramas at Path. Despite the 2 previous drama, ppl somehow still have faith in them. Hope this time they will be more wise :)

Path is allegedly being kicked out of Equinix (directly) and going with a third-party AI company to put their equipment in.

    AI company?

If they're being kicked out for non-payment, will they be able to recover their equipment?

Equinix might be able to keep them from getting to their gear. See this FCC filing mentioning Equinix and their liquidation policies.

We'll find out when they do the equipment migration. I've heard that they're struggling right now due to attacks.

Or maybe start a dedicated server company can call it, oh I don't know...DediPath or something like that.

Pretty sure it won't be Telia.
