Good to know. I might be starting to see why you like crypto.
UPDATE TIME:
All servers should be using the new backup setup now. Looked like some pre-existing VMs were trying to be backed up to the old offsite setup which was failing as it's offline, this has been corrected and I can confirm now that everything is now working as expected.
Soon(tm) all plans will have the bandwidth "upgraded", or rather, if you hit your bandwidth limit, instead of having the network suspended you'll just be throttled to 50Mbps. This is preferable to being inaccessible. Right now I'm updating the known Tor Exits to this policy as many of them hit their BW limit towards the end of the month and get auto-suspended which isn't very nice.
So, 5Gbps connectivity remains the standard in each of our POPs. Once you reach your 10TB, 20TB or 30TB bandwidth allocation for the month (If you reach it, 99% of customers likely never will) you'll now just be throttled to 50Mbps. That way you can still access your server, can ping us if you need an exception made, etc. It's better than having a full network suspension.
EDIT: Oh yeah, new PA stock soon.
I'm curious to know if you've thought about the difference in pricing for registration customers versus DNS-only customers, if any. Maybe it's too far in the future to discuss.
I have ProtonVPN and I tried to also use Incogvpn through Wireguird (an unofficial GUI client for Linux).
I cannot use IncogVPN (geoip lookup keeps reading as home IP instead of server IP) when I have ProtonVPN installed, even if I’m not connected to a proton server. I can use it successfully if I uninstall ProtonVPN, however.
@MannDude is there a workaround for this issue?
I don't have any details on this yet, sorry.
Interesting. Sounds like a DNS leak issue. Have you tried the official Wireguard app? Can you PM me or open a ticket and include the details of your wireguard configuration file?
GENERAL UPDATES
👍🏻 (perfect - now i can move all my (little) stuff that was with @HostSlick shared hosting (was rocksolid for me since years, ty!) to incognet - netherlands!
👍🏻
Thank you for running relays but looking at your family I see all of 4 them are labeled as "BadExit" (so they're downgraded to middle-only). Could you investigate the cause?
LOL - Fucking Tor. Let me check my emails.
We're not running any blocked DNS or anything.
EDIT:
Doesn't seem to be an issue with them... I'm wondering if they just blocked them thinking they weren't really ours or what... Tor is weird like that. In any case, I've responded and let them know that they are indeed ours.
EDIT: Well, my responses to them keep getting rejected by CraneMail and getting returned to me. I don't have time to fuss with trying to give free stuff to a project or diagnose why torproject is rejecting our emails at this particular moment. Will circle back to this later. Still committed to doing this, but it's low on the priority list at the moment.
Any promo for shared hosting going now? Also this location is DDoS protected?
Also please give a little sneek peek for the new configuration so I can know if I buy now or not.
Away from my desk at the moment, will be back in a couple of hours.
Both our NL and KC Shared Hosting has DDoS protection. Kansas City's filtering just went live within the last 24 hours.
CloudLinux limits will be eased, mainly related to IO, memory and CPU. Final numbers aren't set in stone yet.
Can read more about these limits here: https://portal.incognet.io/knowledgebase/29/Understanding-CloudLinux-Limits.html
Edit: and yea, promo soon
Introducing Litespeed to shared hosting packages?
Not set in stone. So far I've found no increase in performance over Apache+Ngimx with lsphp. I do have Litespeed currently activated but I may revert back unless I can be convinced its worth the coat.
Just imagine... privacy shared hosting with Litespeed, what a dream!
I have to make sure its worth the cost and actually has performative value and not just marketing value.
Will test more, though. Its on my long list of things to do.
Is the shared hosting promo from the other thread still active?
Maybe.. I'll check when back at my desk.
Workout time right now (with LET between reps) 💪🏻
Not sure what is up with our noc@ email not being able to send to Tor. Everything is setup correctly, not sure if the rejection is from them or from NC. Either way, forwarded their email to our @incognet email with MXR and responded to them. They replied with:
I do that often too, sometimes all my gym mood goes away after I enter LET forum while I do workout.
Moar stock for WA shortly.
We're moving towards all owned hardware. The goal is that by the end of 2025 we're be running 100% fully owned and operated hardware in each of our 4 locations.
owend hw based on? epyc Turin?
Full disclosure: It's LTO hardware ( AMD EPYC 7B12 ). In WA and PA we're going to live-migrate VMs from rented hardware to newer LTO nodes in the coming months. In Kansas City, everything there is 100% paid for, owned by us from the network gear to the servers to a random storage drawer full of random bits. In NL, we'll be migrating away from Worldstream where we rent a bunch of custom servers they build for us that aren't available on their site.
We're at the size now where renting hardware for years is just bad business practice when that same hardware could have been paid for time and time again had it been LTO. So it's going to be a slow transition but since we're self-funded and no outside loans or a 'money man', it's the best option available to us.
This is all great news.
Hey everyone, is Kansas down?
https://portal.incognet.io/serverstatus.php?view=open
Thank goodness I took a shower, Kansas is back online .
Terminated two VMs related to C&C botnets. One in PA, one in KC. Less than an hour later we were under attack in both locations...
KCMO recovered quickly. PA still showing a lot of packetloss but the CrunchBoys are on the case and working on it.
Do you have plans for opening a new location in the future? Possibly another one in Europe, maybe Asia? Just curious.
Hello @MannDude, can you please check ticket 0205Y43S1?
Consider this as a bump.
