Thankfully my only vice seems to be work :P

Not necessarily torrent if you may refer to my signature
is this a serious porno website or like what do you have going on here? not sarcasm actually curious what's up with this site
it looks as if the good and favorable prices of buyvm will be lost with the switch to cloudzy. too bad.
Well I came here looking for some info on something else.. and boy what a surprise...
I must of missed that email, or it got sent to spam, and spam is auto deleted daily, so... oh well...
I've been a long long time BuyVM user and BuyReseller before this move to the crane thingy..
I've been with BuyVM, longer than any other hosting, ever!
Sure there has been a couple of glitches now and then... while not pleased at times with these glitches, in the bigger picture of it all.. not that big a deal. Solved either by BuyVM or myself and moved on.
I have to say, welp, I am not a happy camper with this move. Looking at this cloudy thing site... I'd have never picked them for many reasons. Many... and I can just see the writing on the wall on this with regards to bandwidth and uses. It may not be this week/month/year.. but it's coming. Wave an agreement at me all you want, I've seen this play out 99.9999% of the time. Please prove me wrong for that 0.00001%
Secondly. loosing LUX, is a big blow..while my LUX slice is not as used as it probably should/was planned to be.. loosing it is a big deal.
And absolutely NO on Holland! Matter of fact NO on ANY EU place honestly. Its sort of why I had LUX any way...
I get it that new adventures seem like a better course after doing that for a long time. I've actually reached a point like that in something I do, but ultimately chose to let the dust settle on some things which got me to that point, and decide in 2025, I will solve the issues in re that adventure of mine which is a 40+ year adventure..
With that said, I am going to bluntly state, I really could care less about the whole crane thingy. I had my BuyResller moved to there, OK... Its time I look to move to something else with that anyway.. Sigh... unfortunately moving the ONE MAJOR site using that to DA on a BuyVM slice, is well unfortunately not a simple process, and well one which I unfortunately do not have the time to deal with it. This issue is 101% a me issue. It has nothing to do with BuyVM etc... Its me, not you.
With that said.. I will echo the chorus..
NO on Holland! And not only no on Holland, but any EU at all!
Is Switzerland any better? I don't know exactly all the ins and outs on that of Lux v. Swiss. Maybe ELI5??? Some others stated what I think about the Swiss and their so called 'privacy' kabuki....
As for the crane stuff... outside of the web hosting. I don't get it.. and welp.. probably wouldn't even if you ELI5 it.. Its just not something that I need or care about, outside the web hosting.. which with this move, maybe I need to solve my "me problem" on that one site.
If thats the path of adventure you have chosen, I wish you luck on that.. but email providing sounds like an even bigger headache than Lux issues.. but shrug... what do I know...
Honestly, I'd just as soon that BuyVM go.. thanks, but no thanks on this deal... Yeah.. wish all I want ...
Same with LUX... sounds like a real f3c3s fest... which I was not aware of.. again, the Lux slice is not as widely used as I planned...my mistake, another me problem.
To say as a happy BuyVM customer, I am quite concerned about the future. Would be putting it mildly.
FYI Luxembourg is a founding member of the EU.
Why exactly…? Cloudzy is priced the same or cheaper in some cases.
@wemanageit NL is extremely unlikely at this point, we have some pricing back from Switzerland, with Hannan’s guys just waiting on a couple more.
Francisco
I felt, without having made exact comparisons, that cloudy.com seemed more expensive than buyvm at first glance.
We give more bandwidth, he gives more CPU it seems (12 79XX cores on the 32G plan) with pricing very close to eachother
All depends what you need. He has extra locations BuyVM doesn't have (UK, Singapore, Netherlands, Dallas, Germany, Utah).
Francisco
i just have to look into it again. you are represented here and approachable. him?
Sorry? I don’t follow.
Are you asking if cloudzy has a rep here?
Francisco
$7 when

Howdy people,
Commenting here since this would be useful info for all:
@Francisco do we have an update on where the LUX nodes will be moving? Have you decided on a new DC yet? Swiss or Holland?
kindest reguards
good news
In my experience brother, it's about the host (owner of the IPs) more than the country itself and how they handle abuse/reports so having a server in the NL is no different.
My recommendation, however, is to use a free reverse SSL proxy, many hosts are very resilient and if you have an issue, you can switch to another within a few minutes.
Congrats @Francisco and good luck for your next steps!
CH 100% for buyvm. Hannan is just finalizing the DC pick. We had a meeting a couple days ago to go over some of the quotes.
Crane goes to NL with a handful of new nodes going to CH.
Francisco
Will it be possible to choose between NL and CH?
Hopefully, lu-shared02 DA will be going to CH.
Crane will ship everything to NL. We will spin up some new nodes in CH for those that want it.
Francisco
When is this going to happen? Will it be easy to move between NL and CH?
I expect NL to be up in the next few weeks, I’m just finalizing gear to order. I expect it to take a bit before I can get crane into CH as well (mostly figuring out an ip block to use).
Francisco
Which DC are you going to use if I may ask? in NL and CH?
NL is looking to likely be NorthC unless something better comes up.
CH is still finalizing, but somewhere in Zurich. There is some quotes from a couple DCs in Geneva but limited bandwidth options.
Francisco
thank you my kindest sir, i am very much delighted
I just found about this. I was a customer of buyvm for 7-8 years and actually was considering moving some servers over to NY/LV after so much frustration from over providers. What happens to these locations? Will the unmetered bandwidth disappear, because that would be a total deal breaker for me.
Will Buyvm continue to exist as a brand or cloudzy will take over?
Thanks @Francisco @Hannan
You should wait for their answer, but in the meantime I can give you a TLDR:
Will Buyvm continue to exist as a brand or cloudzy will take over?
1) LV/NY/MIA stay as they are.
2) Unmetered bandwidth stays the same, that's no going away, or being reduced. We have some insane spare room on some of the locations.
3) BuyVM will continue as it is and has no plans to merge into Cloudzy. It'll just be operated/owned by them and focus on different markets/offerings.
4) I'm still here (up to you if that's a plus or minus :P)
Francisco
Thanks a lot for clarifying all of this, we can definitely expect an even better service. All the right decisions you've made there IMHO.
It's definitely a plus that you'll stay on board!
lol, please do print this out and look at it again in five years.
