People get banned for high cpu use??? I didnt know that... Coming from Oracle cloud and their terms for free vps says one of the reasons for them reclaiming the machine is if cpu and/or bandwidth drops below 10% for extended amount of time.

Yeah i didnt realize this was a thing on vps.. it seems to be across the board though. I never really thought about it. In a way it kinda makes sense, like you dont want someone to sping a while(true) on high priority on all their vcpus. At the same time, I feel like the VM software should have some kind of built in throttling mechanism.

Same. I think it's kinda messed up that you will be banned for using what you paid for. If you paid 1vc, then you should be able to use this entire vcore. That sucks.

    yes, when?

Soooon i hope! I wouldnt be surprised if $7 is within the range of one of their 1GB vps during a flash sale. I got a 2.5GB flash sale for an awesome deal and that seems within the realm of possiblities.

What was the price of the 2.5GB VPS?

i feel like they pretty much merged with youtoube or something. Lots of vevo videos on youtube for music. Assuming they got bought out rather than just shutdown

    Yeah, there's no VEVO anymore

Its not available anymore. They do pop up with offers once in a while though. Can't name other providers here.

The festive season has been crazy. I got some insane offers.

If you're looking for cheap storage, consider NAT/ipv6 only.

I just figured they had a smart throttle built in ;) i still can use mine just makes monitoring a little more important. Might handicap some projects

Probably they have a system for that? But the question is: what's too much for them? Like, how much you need to use it to trigger that system?

    Good price

    yeah $13.99
    2.5 GB RAM
    3 vCPU
    24 GB

I applied my 512 MB ram winnings to it.

The disk space is the biggest limiting factor but i figure if i ever need more, i'll just use some service to store the data, i.e. redis or put dbs on another server. I'll always have atleast 2 in the location i set it up in.
