As some of you may know, tracking where sales come from can be tough. I ran 2 ads for this same spec on 2 different forums. One of them being LET. I didn't post the coupon code on the other forum. It's LET only.

Inventory of unallocated machines in this spec 24 hours ago was 86 total. I'm now down to 38. Of the 48 machines sold, the split is almost 50/50 between sales with the coupon code and sales without.

Far from scientific and not that it matters much to anyone here but I think it's interesting.

I may suspend the coupon code when I get below 10, just a heads up.

  • Extremely tempting. Some additional HDD storage along with the SSDs would have me scrambling for my wallet.

No room in the case. 2x SSds is all that will fit. :)

I never advertised them as having IPMI access. They have a version of it that we use for rebooting them but it's not customer facing. These systems don't even have a video port. They are all OCS spec systems.

I don't think the word "scam" means what you think it means.

  • There is lots of things I would like to try on the server, but I imagine at first I would need a few OS re-installs, until I have it figured out.
Is there a system in place so that I can do that or is it something I need to open a ticket for every time?

You can do it yourself through the billing system. No need to open a ticket.

May I please ask, do these systems have serial ports?

They are all OCS spec systems.

Also, what does "OCS spec" stand for? I tried searching on Google, but couldn't figure it out.

@AaronW If I understand right, the billing system reinstaller offers a choice of operating systems, but does not seem to offer options for setting up the disks. For example, within the billing system, I couldn't figure out how to choose among regular software mdadm RAID 0 or 1 with ext4, or btrfs, or LVM. It looks like the sole option might be to try changing the disk layout from inside the installed server -- maybe running Qemu inside a RAM disk, wiping and reinstalling the SSDs, or something like that. May I please ask, am I missing something about the installer's choice of disk layout, and will Nocix support do custom disk layout or custom OS installs?

Finally, I couldn't figure out how to set up IPv6, which did not seem to be working on my server's original install or on a reinstall that I initiated via the billing system. I ended up installing IPv6 via TunnelBroker.net, but it might be nice to have local IPv6 without needing the tunnel. Am I again missing something?

Thanks very much for your kind attention to my questions. Best wishes!
