lol 😂 Just pay the $40 and maybe also give him a shoulder massage and beg for lifting the suspension because you seem not only stupid enough to pay Virmache, but you trusted them enough to run a Nextcloud instance. Folks here wouldn’t trust Virmache to run even apt update since 2020 or so.

    That's a backup of a backup of a backup.
I got banned because I am doing a backup to another backup.

    Thanked by 1Void
  • VirMach is utterly unreliable garbage—steer clear.

Nextcloud won't work well on 1.5GB.
You need to upgrade to 4GB RAM.

I have been using WebMin with Debian 11 … with 1.5 GB memory … seems to be working well

    Thanked by 2admax elliotc
  • Virmach is not recommended by me either. I have also been virmached last year.

I set up a web directory using NGINX on Debian 12 with 384MB of memory, and it runs well. ;) 384MB VIRM***

  • Monday Entertainment Plan:

    1. Buy a lot of popcorn.
    2. Buy a cheap IP stresser subscription.
    3. Lookup VirMach's IP addresses on https://bgpview.io/search/virmach.
    4. Send traffic to random VirMach IP addresses.
    5. Enjoy popcorn while you watch lowendspirit.com explode into one big $40 fee drama.

Be cautious when using VIR*** to avoid prolonged CPU bursts and long periods of high-speed memory read/write operations. :joy: LOL!

I hope they don’t suspend my server before YABS completes 😂

Thank you for suggesting Option 5. I think there will be people who will be more angry than I am will take this option in the future.

Sir, you can see on the panel that "the machine has been blocked." YABS took down your VIR*** server! You need to pay a $40 fine to unlock the machine! ;)

One can always compare apples with oranges and thereby imagine that the comparison makes sense (when it doesn't)

    @elliotc

Not only is Nextcloud itself pretty demanding these days, but also running webdav to webdav backups with synchronization on a 1.5 GB RAM / 1 vCPU (?) VPS is liable to cause an issue for any (especially low-end) provider

I'm not saying that the way VirMach handled this was ideal, but how would you have liked them to react?

Maybe. He might have turned off email notifications and probably wouldn't know what people are discussing about VIR**** on LET — unless, as you said...

Don't say that, if Frankz see it he will surely defend Virmach.

  • Here is YABS for my $18.63/year vir**** VPS

    3x vCores Ryzen 5950x
    2.5 GB
    110 GB NVMe
    8 TB Monthly Bandwidth

  • Virmarch should be banned here. They were alright until they migrated to Ryzen CPUs, then came massive downtimes, high chance of never receiving a response to a ticket and their AUP policy that suspends your server for just using it.

Maybe it's my fault, but I don't recommend it; that's my conclusion.

I am just sharing what I feel for the situation and my option. You are welcome to feel differently. At the same time, I am not obliged to think about how to solve this problem. I am not the guy who receives money to solve the problem.

My sense is simply that one needs a VPS with significantly better specs for Nextcloud and webdav to webdav backups with synchronization

I may have missed it, but of the four options 1--4 did you choose in the end?
