From a neutral point of view, wouldn't it be misleading to use the word 'stole', even with quotes, when in fact the money was sent to the provider from an active subscription that was willingly accepted once upon a time?

Considering the provider discontinued the subscription just 4 hours later with the intent to keep that money (as seen in the screenshot the original intent was to send all money already credited to accounts to their parent company) I considered it strong wording, but not too out of line to think up another wording.

  • As of 01:14 UTC @InceptionHosting has refunded the PayPal transaction "As a matter of goodwill.", and thus I consider this case resolved.

@cybertech pinging you since you asked to be kept informed

I will post some further background (unrelated to the dispute) for those curious later on, but I gotta get ready for work now.

  • Refunded or not this is still disappointing. Cases like this just reinforce that you shouldn’t spend a lot of money (if any money really) on LET hosts, because they do things like this.

how to destroy the reputation of two former "top provider" brands over a few dollar.

either it's two different companies - then give people of the closing one their f'ing money back.
or it's one group/connected companies - then man up and give people who do not want to be taken over their f'ing money back.

@Clouvider @InceptionHosting for the love of god hire someone else to do pr/comment on let for you or just dont respond to any threads.

You keep shooting yourselves in the foot and at this point I'm starting to think it's intentional.

What a shit show over just $60.

$60 can buy you alot of things in other parts of the world

I think they were taking about Clouvider hurting their reputation over $60

Please tag @InceptionHosting for any Inception queries.
It’s and was a separate company.

I can't get over this response lol

And then the offer of $60 Clouvider credit.

Imagine if you asked OVH for a refund and they said they couldn't refund you, but they could give you $60 credit at Hetzner

    Just absolute comedy

Can confirm. I have received 0.34 EUR and 0.15 EUR in 2 separate transaction via PayPal as a refund.

I also received 0.89 EUR each for both of my services, which I think was overly generous as I was given a free month from the date of the announcement even though my services were due to end a month before the date the company was closing.

Glad it worked out, take the money and run. Goodwill, my fucking sides lol.

  • Edited title so that it reflects the topic more accurately

For the historical record, the original title was:

PSA: Clouvider / former InceptionHosting just "stole" $60 from me.

Fair but I don't think you needed to remove Clouvider from the title.

They are explicitly mentioned in the ticket response received by OP.

Honestly it might even be on purpose. From the outside they look like a very successful and financially healthy company. One wonders if the LE market has any benefit to their business anymore, so maybe they're culling.

Well, strictly speaking, the payment was made to Inception Hosting for a service originally purchased from Inception Hosting and Inception Hosting will cease to exist only on January 15th, not to mention that the ticketing system is still that of Inception Hosting

I understand that nearly everyone wants to pin all of this (and more?) on Clouvider, but I'd prefer to keep to the surface facts unless there's a really good reason to imagine that there's something more sinister happening beneath the surface

The fact that Clouvider was mentioned in the ticket is itself hardly worthy of a conviction, because it was simply said that the account credit could be transferred from an Inception Hosting account to a Clouvider account (which anticipates the closing of Inception Hosting, which is old news by now)

I don't think there's anything sinister, but contextually it is quite relevant. If the OP titled it "Inception Hosting wants to transfer my credit to Clouvider instead of refunding me" would you change it?

Personally to me it seems like they don't care about the brand reputation of Inception cause like you said.. it won't exist anymore, but the ownership company does, and should be kept accountable in threads regarding their acquisition (maybe more so if it was more severe than it actually ended up being, but I think OP just jumped the gun in posting as I said before)

If the OP had chosen that title, then at least it would have been more accurate, though one might still have asked whether this is what Inception Hosting "wants", but I may not have changed the title in this case

But, unfortunately, the OP chose a much worse title

Personally to me it seems like they don't care about the brand reputation of Inception cause like you said.. it won't exist anymore, but the ownership company does, and should be kept accountable in threads regarding their acquisition (maybe more so if it was more severe than it actually ended up being, but I think OP just jumped the gun in posting as I said before)

I think that we both agree both that the original ticket response from Inception Hosting wasn't particularly helpful and that the OP jumped the gun

I'd prefer not to speculate too much on Clouvider's behind-the-scenes maneuvers here (if there were any)

  • Clouvider is a known company handling customers like trash and scamming them. They have scammed me for 4k+ and forced me to remove a Review on Trustpilot to refund half the amount.

Can post all screenshots / create separate topic if wished.

Would suggest to avoid this company at all costs. They network/hardware is top notch, but the CEO, Mr. Dominick is a dickhead, and Anthony ain't better.

If you want to make a thread and post proof sure but why ask LET, you know their answer already.

I will say you have gone balls deep with the accusations there. Make a thread if you want to, or move on.
