Issue with $60 payment to Inception Hosting, now resolved
VPS hoster InceptionHosting will cease operations on Jan 15 and will be absorbed by its parent company Clouvider.
On Nov 12 at 11:18am local time my recurring yearly Paypal transaction to top up my VPS bill went through. Roughly 4 hours later at 3:01pm I was informed that InceptionHosting will be shutting down.
After going through the "winding down" process I was informed on Dec 30 that IH will not be returning the $60 credit in my account and my only option is to use it against Clouvider store credit. (I've long since went with a better offer from another provider.)
Since I've now $60 to blow on a useless VPS I don't want, what do you think will be a good use of my credit?

Chargeback on Paypal.
I'm sure there's someone out there who'd appreciate that credit. Maybe a giveaway if someone can make you laugh? Kinda sounds like that'd be good for everyone all around.
Definitely not an outcome I agree with as is. Top up credit + company no longer sell services = credit is no longer valid.
You can lawyer your way out of it as the business I'm sure but it's a bad way to go out. Proof of accusation?
Chargeback with proof. Product not as agreed. Easy win.
@Clouvider why
and get added to fraudrecord & maxmind by Clouvider. Easy win.
Easiest paypal dispute ever.
Open a dispute, attach proof of IH closing, then attach proof of refused refund message, then attach proof of what you bought vs what you got or where offered.
Do not abuse any server with the credits or use them or they will immediately terminate you and you get no service and no refund.
If OP gets added to fraudrecord and maxmind over this, I personally guarantee to get it removed. Not a first time I got someone removed from those listings under similar situation. The provider re-added the customer afterwards and got his submission access removed due to falsified data.
ofc if the OP lied or ends up using the credit, then its his own loss.
Im fairly sure theres a misunderstanding. theres no way @Clouvider would be so stupid as to fuck over his brand for some 60 USD.
Dispute payment
Please tag @InceptionHosting for any Inception queries.
It’s and was a separate company.
Rather wait for response first. If neither party responds, it will only get worse lol.
also @jinks post proof or if it turns out differently than you claimed, you will get banned if we drag the providers through the mud here for nothing.
If true, this is gonna be a good drama.
They successfully stalled the refund process past 30 days. Still an easy win though.
Contact them with a final request for a refund and give them a workable ultimatum. If they won't,they're proper twats and deserve a chargeback.
Bogus entries at FR and MM can easily be removed with the right documentation.
If @InceptionHosting refuses to refund, will you do it since you're taking it over, including all the responsibilities?
That is NOT tge point
Bruh
Why not log in to the Inception account and reply? It's a "shared account" as per bio and I'm assuming it's Dominik I'm responding to right now - if so, it's not like you aren't involved? Got to say I'm not a fan of this "It's not us it's them" behaviour regardless of what's right/wrong.
You were happy to respond multiple times to the last thread up until it seemed like the mass majority disagreed with you.
As I tagged Clouvider I was thinking hmm maybe he’ll try to say I should have tagged their other company, but then I realized they used both accounts on the last thread so surely not.
But yeah, here we are
He can chargeback @InceptionHosting then because its a different company right? it should not matter then.
I think it's just a brand integrity thing. Last thread went tits up, all of a sudden Clouvider stops responding and Inception takes over to take the hit - title gets changed to "Inception Hosting Review". I suspect the same will happen to this thread.
I'll repeat what I said in the last thread: "They had a really amazing reputation among this community which could have been left intact." It seems to be getting ruined more and more.
Who cares. You're now aware. Solve it and carry on.
Was title changed from Clouvider to Inception Hosting as it turned to shit lol?
Can't confirm but it was something like "Company are a bunch of scammers". I don't recall if it was Clouvider in the title.
I could be chatting bollocks. It happens.
Mods in LET are surprisingly fair. If someone gets fucked over by reputable provider and there's clear evidence to support the claim, yet the provider refuses to explain or resolve the problem, the mods don't mind leaving the thread title as it is for maximum SEO value.
In the end, I think the findings of the last thread were it was a communication issue rather than a fuck up, so fair enough.
Edit: I think it was set to sink though. I don't know the specifics of sinking rules on this forum.
well if its true Inception Hosting indeed did this and wants to shirk all responsibilities by offering credits on Clouvider which they cant since it was and is a separate company, i think its fair to say
chargeback yesterday
Good point. How would the community feel if this was a brand new acquisition?
For example Cloudzy + BuyVM:
Telling all BuyVM users that their credits aren't refundable, they're closing shop and that they can use them on Cloudzy.
I wouldn't be happy with that personally unless the 2nd company database was physically merged with the 1st company, and even then I'd want the same services to be offered, or at least very similar in price and spec.
Since you tagged them can you now switch accounts and respond?
What a shit show over just $60.
