The biggest problems with cryptocurrency for me are latency and high transaction fees.
suut, depends which you use. I use XMR and BCH, those two are <$0.05 per transaction normally.
I have tried Monero and ETH, and now USDT.

I pay with crypto via IncogPAY. Never had issues. Loading up account credit circumvents the issues with transaction speed. Paying in XMR reduces fees and supports privacy.
Probably out of topic, how do you usually buy/trade XMR?
There are a lot of options depending on your threat model. Everything from buying XMR directly with a debit card, from face-to-face transactions in cash.
As 10thHouse said, you can use standard fiat, I know of Kraken sell it. Although monero usually considered a 'dirty' coin, so most exchanges don't sell it.
I used to buy from LocalMonero, but that closed. Now, 'I got a guy' who I buy from.
