  I found a pc in a dumpster that is actually my server. People left personal info on it too but i wiped it all first because ethics

  HDD is the way to go when you need capacity. I use that as well

  Me as well. Won't have to go for an SSD if it wasn't for my Android box not having issues with the HDD. I am guessing it's a power issue.

  yeah it really doesnt take too much. Transcoding is the only real big demanding thing

  Yah, if you plan on transcoding you really need an Intel or Mac

  I havent been able to setup a box that can handle transcoding well. It needs expensive hardware

  For starters, when the desktop was given to me, it was already almost 10 years old, and had many parts missing. It wasn't really worth anything, but it was a case, a motherboard, a CPU (Core i3-3225), PSU, etc to get me started.

  Me as well. Been saving money for an SSD for my PC/Media server.

  My home server is still booting from HDDs because I'm lazy. It's frustrating if I need to reboot, otherwise, it works well enough.

  HDD is the way to go when you need capacity. I use that as well

  Yeah, but having an SSD boot drive is a nice bonus.
