Sometimes I wonder why can't I find recertified disks in India....

    You mean refurbished?

You can't buy most things in India you see in US like 2nd hand PC's etc while being quite affordable. I'm yet to find a marketplace like ebay which gives bang for a buck!

yaa man wish there was a thing like this things are already comparatively costlier in india and them taxes to :anguished:

Like xeon office desktop for 300-500$ with 32 cores 128G DDR3.

I couldnt imagine a 32 core machine in my house :open_mouth:

    Nope recertified they are different....

Ok googled it. It seems they test heavily the recertified ones.

And they are mostly done by manufacturer instead of someone else

Do they come with renewed warranties typically as well? Maybe that would put me at ease a bit.. a warranty with data recovery services.

Usually 1 year and no data recovery service.

whats the difference? One rebuilt vs one saying its good to go as it is?

Refurbished are simply fixed and sold back to market, recertified are tested by manufacturer for various reasons before entering in market, recertified are better choices for me as I don't want to see my drives dead randomly.

Yeah it sounds a bit better. Im just worried about how much life is taken off, how accurate are their tests, whats good enough etc. You can also get a dud of a new drive as well though so its not risk free there either

    Yeah not reliable at all....

Oddly after my talk of worry with refurbished or recertified drives.. I just recalled i got a dirt cheap asus laptop refurbished laptop 10 years~ ago and it still runs great. GPU keeps up on decent settings too.
