I had revived some old batteries... The backup dud increased a little and it worked for 3 months with just acid without even cleaning the plates with specialized cleaning agent... Just acid and water.

I just did a quick research and most websites just claim that you should never use H2SO4 in a battery.

You should never unless it's 1250g... 1250g is diluted around 35 percent acid and rest water.... All lead acid batteries are filled with that.... H2SO4 that is.

I thought its 1250g weight. Now googled it after the clarification.. 🀣🀣

    It's actually weight.... Acid's in water πŸ˜‚

    yeah got it now.. 🀣

Staying as far away from APC as possible. Recommended APC to a few friends based on reviews and general opinion I read about them in r/IndianGaming a few years ago. I had completely forgotten that a few years is a lot of time for a company to go down the drain. Not one of those friends had a good thing to say about those UPSes after 2-3 months of usage.

Get mikrotek or vertiv if need reliability with bigger ones.

Thanks for the brand suggestions. Microtek seems cheaper and has good reviews on Amazon (not that I completely rely on Amazon reviews)

Used mikrotek 3kva one for a while it was awesome 😎

Remember how much you got it for? I am also planning to move to 3Kva or better when it comes to that.

It wasn't mine just used it for 4 months. I didn't asked the person who handed it over to me for the price but I doubt it was cheaper than 15K

That's a reasonable price for a 3kva inverter. Researching current prices...

    My 2kva vertiv was 15k πŸ™„

Well why go to UPS if we can get inverter at that price. any reason?

All that talk of batteries and inverters yesterday and I dunno if I jinxed it somehow. @TrK, I guess my battery is shot and might require a replacement very soon. My computer went poof 3 times for no apparent reason, even when no other heavy load machinery was plugged in. If it's still under warranty, I'll have to get the same 200/220Ah battery. Else, will take your suggestion and invest in 2x 150Ah batteries.

Inverter battery? they usually don't go suddenly like that. Are you maintaining it properly? like using distilled water regularly etc?

Yup, refill distilled water properly at regular times, give it a clean from time to time and all the works. But, fortunately, it's still under warranty.

How many years you've been using it? usual life is around 4 years I think.

Only 2 years. Got 4 years of warranty.

Btw whats exactly happening? sometimes its the inverter having some problems, not the battery.

You guys are the experts, it seems. Just got in touch with the dealer. He seems to think the inverter is the most probably cause of the issue as well. He asked me to look for any error codes next time it happens and get back to him.

Inverters go busted due to heavy load, circuit goes kapoor... Most prolly it is a square wave one man i hare these

Circuit Kapoor? Must be the new nepo in town. Anyways,it's a pure sine wave inverter.

Sorry auto correct in works, meant kapoot.... Pure shine wave ... Are you sure you said the deal assembled it for you...

No, I had another electrician check it as well. It's pure sine wave. He's a local assembler who has made a name for himself in the area. Literally a call away as well. My relatives have bought from him for over 2 decades now.

Hmm interesting... I haven't seen one from my area will be interesting to check it out πŸ˜ƒ

Not sure if every area has one. He is a unicorn I guess. Even programmed the board for the inverter himself. And, most of the time he doesn't even care if the inverter is out of warranty. He will come and repair it for you free of cost, if it's something that doesn't require expensive components.

Ofcourse will prolly see some old guys still in the field

Oh yes, most of them are more knowledgeable than many of the current Engg graduates.

Yup they knows much more, the oldie near me was the one who taught me about inverters, batteries and their workings and what not :)

I was just gonna ask you, if you learned all this from a veteran in the field.

    Now you know πŸ˜‰

Yah, I have learned a lot from these guys as well. But, somehow my brain decides to delete all this data when new stuff comes in.

You need more vitamin E.... πŸ˜‰

    Apricots fine?

    Perfectly fine

BTW, all this info. from your Doctor friend, who you call an idiot?

Yeah and another one who is a smart doctor just haven't seen him for years he is busy with post graduation degree

So many Doctors in your circle. That's good. How much do you save on medical bills in an year?

    Almost all

Awesome. All that money goes into domain hoarding. Be grateful to all the Doctors in your lives guys

    Grateful and appreciative πŸ™

Oh yes, especially if they charge you low or 0 for consultation.

Consultation free and meds free if they have it with them.

Ooh, that's a lot of money saved, especially if you are an only-Allopathic medication guy.

I am not medication guy apart from my allergic meds.

Any videos in youtube regarding this? yup safety is what worries me. Don't want any blasts. :/

I meant someone who only has Allopathic meds.

That I don't... I try to avoid medicines...

The Doctor friends not allopathic Doctors?

They are but I try to avoid meds... Well can't do anything for allergies gotta consume meds...

I had revived some old batteries... The backup dud increased a little and it worked for 3 months with just acid without even cleaning the plates with specialized cleaning agent... Just acid and water.

I want to try it with my APC 2200va batteries though. They both are dead it seems.

Do it 😺😺 but adhere to proper safety measures while doing it.

Any videos in youtube regarding this? yup safety is what worries me. Don't want any blasts. :/

It won't blast.... Although it can be a little warm because of chemical reaction

Now where can i see the videos to check it first whether I can do that or not

I don't know I am not into youtube should I create one and upload for you later?

    You got a channel?

    Nah... Should I create one?

It'd definitely be a good idea to do tutorials on varied topics you are knowledgeable on. Would definitely love to see the home lab.

    rm: can't remove '/sys/module/virtio_net/parameters/napi_tx': Read-only file system

Alpine good and smol, i approve 😎

With some time, might just move the whole webserver to Alpine.
