And i am out of money for the month.....
Well hello page 142.....
NICE! Hello all from way down here!
Dang thats no good. My drive on my nas started flagging errors and i ordered a replacement but its been delayed
My main workstation, got two 2tb wd blue, and two 1tb nvme drives
nice. I I have some blue in my pc but they havent quit yet! They are getting up there in age . Only 1 TB though
Nas, custom built or prebuilt from synology or something?
its a qnap nas. It was on a pretty cheap deal but only 2 bay. In retrospect i wish I had gotten a 4 drive. Need more redudancies

Well mine older one is really old, been using that from 2015
Ooops, meant to say as (hit send to soo) well that i did like the plug and play nature and small form of the nas. Thought about building my own but the deal was too good to pass
Ah so is it running raid 1? Or no raid?
I think thats a pretty decent life span, 10 years is good. Never failing is ideal but thats a good amount of time to last
I can understand but I would like to build a better home lab and have truenas scale running on it.
Raid 1 but i really feel like 2 backups is not good enough. I also want to get a second piece of hardware to stick drives in from a diffrent vendor on a different outlet and UPC battery backup. Im worried the nas is going to brick the drives on its own as well through some freak accident
Yeah and I am out of money sed.....
Such is life, never enough money to do everything
Well i once said in other RN thread that you can't have enough backups.
Maybe if dustin hires me I might have additional stream for my gadgets
This is true. Backups for your backups for your backups
There you go, that sounds like a plan. Maybe they retire old hardware to employees too. That would be a neat perk
It ends with n+1 ๐๐๐๐
Again the shipping and import duty will kill me
Hmm should I sleep now?.....
I think this is a matter of limits in math eh? forgive me if im wrong but my math is growing weaker as i age
yah thats unfortunate. Maybe they can setup something local to you, markets exist everywhere
no i dont think we have time for that, we are about to hit 143 as well i think. AFter that its one page closer to our 150 milestone
How much does a 2 TB wd blue 7200 run you where you are located?
@TrK , it sounds like the party lost ya! No worries more important things to do! We will all be here ready to party again when you get back soon!
Yeah....
That's ideal but I doubt dustin will do that...
