@itachikonoha said: This entitled attitude, just because these are low priced vps needs to be discouraged.

You're not even a customer, you're just in here stirring up the pot for whatever reason.

    It's quite telling that:

    • People who've received their VPS already are overjoyed with it.
    • Existing customers who haven't received their VPS are happy waiting because they know it'll be awesome.
    • New customers who read the notice about delivery and support expectations are waiting patiently, knowing they'll get something good.
    • Some other new customers are getting a bit anxious. Understandable, but also it's not really a big deal whether they get their new thing now or soon, as the service date will be adjusted to when it starts.
    • Other people, like yourself, who have never been a customer nor have bought this deal seem to spend a lot of time in here stirring up trouble.

I don't know why you like going into threads and stirring up shit when you're not even a customer. This isn't the only thread I've seen you in, but for someone with such a new account, it's kind of weird that you only seem to hang out relentlessly giving providers trouble about services you've never used.

I already told the reason previously also. You don't need to be a customer to judge whether something is right or wrong. If there's any restrictions of LET that says that one can not put his perspective in case of provider of whom he was never customer of, I would like you to state it and in that case, this message will be my last one regarding this subject.

It's about principle. If you see something is wrong, you should not have the fear to state the same.

  • Don't worry another YABS is coming up.

Customers have all the right to share the positive feedback about the provider.

I have shared YABS for that reason. Customers who have placed the order and still waiting ... they can see the quality of HH VPS and waiting is worth it.

Non-customers, who did not place any order, they can continue to exercise their right of opinion/principle and criticize.

They can call anything they want, after all they are talking of "principle against anything wrong".

Their language says it all. It is anything but principle.

I'll request other members, if you want to put forward an argument, then directly quote the post instead of hiding behind words in a sneaky manner. We all are matured people here who can handle criticism. Isn't it?

    I'll directly address the following:

@dev_vps what is the purpose of spamming yabs in this thread? People who already bought already knows what the performance are which is why they bought in the first place.

But using it as argument to downplay the grievance of people who fears to raise ticket even after 3 weeks and shaming them for their "impatience" is simply promoting an entitled perspective.

Sometimes people want to get their products within the time frame and seek a route to express their grievance than looking at yabs. And you are distracting the subject with these yabs as their posts get lost amidst spam of yab posts.

If you want to post yabs, surely do it. But iirc, you related it to showing people what they will receive for "patience". That's a very misleading and manipulating approach and not in good faith.

  • This is a provider offer thread and customers have the right to share the performance feedback.

    You've got problem with that?
That too, when you are a non-customer and calling others "cheerleaders"

  • Me too. I don’t get why @dev_vps keeps posting yabs, speedtest, and screenshots of windows desktop and then calling a provider premium, not just under this thread. Those numbers do not say anything about a provider and are very much misleading.

I already have many VPS from HostHatch, and I think they are pretty good. There's no need for you to repeatedly share YABS results. Some people post YABS results just to hype up the price for resale.
I don’t hate waiting; what I hate is waiting with uncertainty. If HostHatch delays, they should provide a reason so that those waiting don’t have to feel so anxious. Regardless of whether customers are using full-priced or budget machines, we should adhere to some basic principles—respect for customers.

I am not alone in calling HH as a premium provider

Only performance doesn't make a host premium.

Do not quote my post if it is not addressed to you

You're totally right. They win on price too.

Providers are premium when their customers are called cheerleaders by non-customers

PS the YABS is only 3568 because it's for storage, not compute.

Not many providers will have such GB6 scores for a storage server.

Sometimes I am curious why would one need comoute power on a server specifically meant for storage.

Given it's a plus. But ideally no one should be using storage boxes for anything aside storage.

But I have seen that get abused and then everyone has to suffer...

Omg I got great cpu let me hit it 24x7

I go for storage server with A+ compute power so that I can use Windows Server OS.

Never got a single cpu abuse notification.

That's awesome that you keep things in control

One should not use windows server os if they don’t know how to manage cpu utilization below AUP.

Again, HH's servers are good, and worth to wait for, but is it better to keep in touch with its customers about what happens?

Of course it would be better if they did. Maybe AI can help in that regard? Not the end of the world if they provision late and don't post updates though, as long as they're not deadpooling. No one is losing millions.

Regardless of whether customers are using full-priced or budget machines, we should adhere to some basic principles—respect for customers.

    This helped set my expectations:

Please order one of the packages from hosthatch.com directly if immediate provisioning is needed. We cannot offer faster provisioning on special plans.
Our promotional services are provided at near-cost pricing to fill up excess capacity

It may depend on where you're from, and what you're used to. Where I live, it's common knowledge that paying rock-bottom prices is akin to gambling. You may get good value for your money, or may end up losing your money entirely. Especially here on LowEndTalk, it's happened to me (and I believe many others) to buy services that were then abandoned by their owners: servers were switched off with no notice whatsoever. Our life, or job, or business, or our dignity as customenrs cannot depend on the timely fulfillment of a Cyber Monday offer.

It's appocable to any os. Having some basic knowledge is needed.

Some providers even provide dedicated vCores for storage vps. Yes, dedicated vCores.

And it is perfectly ok to use cpu cores without any limits.

I run rclone and borg jobs: they'll complete faster and not get OOM Killed if there's a decent amount of available compute power and RAM.

Ok.... not sure where the reference to other providers and dedicated cores came from.

Dear valued customers. Thank you for your patience while we continue to provision servers purchased during our Black Friday sale. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, this has taken a little longer than expected. I apologise for any inconvenience caused. Rest assured we are working to get the last few servers online and expect these to be complete by the end of the month. Thanks again for your patience.

    Or

ChatGPT - write me a short explanation for unexpected delays whilst provisioning VPSs for my customers. Acknowledge their frustration and thank them for their patience.

It takes 2 minutes. No excuse.
