    Yeah, my i5-4370t isn't cutting me any slack now..... getting a ryzen would be hall of an upgrade.... and ofcourse it can easily handle my NAS and container on a single server, i could retire my old unit in peace.....

    As a matter of principal, I never go with latest gen hardware! There is no sense to it, if you wait a few years the cost is nearly half as much often times

    Yeah, my i5-4370t isn't cutting me any slack now..... getting a ryzen would be hall of an upgrade.... and ofcourse it can easily handle my NAS and container on a single server, i could retire my old unit in peace.....

    Oh I forgot your pet project. How many TBs of data?

    currently holding 7TBs and counting......

    NAS drives? or normal hdds?

    normal WD blue 4tbx2 might be getting two additional and setup raid 10 after upgrading the unit.

    As a matter of principal, I never go with latest gen hardware! There is no sense to it, if you wait a few years the cost is nearly half as much often times

    But power efficiency is also a thing
