Don't go with these cheap ones, they are just refurbished HDDs I wouldn't go with them at all, instead I would rather get new consistent SSD.
Yup. RHEL wantedly destroyed Centos, the most stable distro. yummm
He took the red pill.
Yah, that's what I'd do prolly. A 1TB Consistent SSD would be enough for media storage needs.
Yeah, I liked Elementary UI. Deepin UI too. But they were somewhat sluggish on my VM. XFCE is perfect balance for customization and performance for my taste.
You are running OS in HDD?
I purchased those magazines only for the CD/DVDs.
For large storage definitely HDDs. Price/GB.
Don't do that ๐ญ
Page 890 is here go go go
Ssds aare getting cheaper ๐
Or 1 tb is a lot 256 gb should be enough btw
No. On an NVMe. Just had a few files on HDD, especially the VM's VDIs. Was a struggle backing them up and then moving them.
Me as well. Had only a few of them though. Same goes for the Champak Jogo Discs. Remember them?
Yah, was considering that. But, adding the price of a SATA Docking station and the electricity costs and physical space consumption, a SATA SSD seems better in the longer run.
Nope. Not at all. Don't remember the last time I ran a Host OS off an HDD.
Not for larger storage, like 4TB
Yup, VDIs are big and take lots of time to move, esp if you store them in single file like me.
SSD prices are okay for upto 1 TB.
I just tarred the important files within each of these VDIs. They themselves were pretty large.
I thought you are looking for TBs of storage.
Yup, upto 1TB they are fine.
It's just for Media storage for the Jellyfin server running atop my Android box. So, 1TB should be enough.
Moreover, if you are getting an SSD 2TB or higher, I'd definitely recommend a Samsung/atleast a Crucial, not any of those cheaper brands.
Anyways, once the files have been properly copied and arranged, I am also planning to install and setup a tiling WM like xfwm4 on top of Lubuntu. I'd really love the tiling and snapping windows.
What do you run on those VMs?
How do you connect that to Android box? You want to buy an external ssd?
I always prefer Samsung. I have 1Nvme, 1TB 860 evo, and 500GB portable T5.
Hello, I would like to double my bandwidth.
