I was working in a restaurant many years ago, and an elderly couple came in for a meal. They enjoyed their food, and it came time for the bill. The old man was so embarrassed as he forgot his wallet, and had no way to pay. I told him not to worry about it, and covered their meal out of my tips for the day. One that immediately comes to mind is a time we were visiting South Africa and woke one morning near the beach to discover a group of southern right whales had gotten beached. What is it one can try to figure out the problem?
