Looking for email solution for personal use!!

Few days back, I tried to sign up for flywp. But, I wasn't receiving emails from them on my outlook account. So, I contacted their support team and they told me there was no issue with them.

I then reached out to outlook's support team, but I was surprised to find that they don't offer email support or live chat. The only way to get help was through their community forum, where I eventually got a response. The reason they gave me was that flywp might be using a low reputation email service, lol !!! The problem is I'm using the free version of outlook and I can't blame outlook.

So, now I'm looking for alternative email hosting providers that can offer good user interfaces, solid reputations, reliable support and ofc @ affordable price.

They have to be privacy friendly, should have aliasing feature. And proton is way out of my budget!! I am looking for something 20 to 25USD a year at max!!

  • Note: I am receiving email from flywp on my gmail account.

Their control panel is DirectAdmin, and I think they are, for good reasons, the most popular mail service provider on LET.

  • namecrane maybe?

+1 for MXRoute - @jar is the man.

@jar 's MXRoute is good, the gold standard. Excellent documentation. Easy to use interface if you're used to DirectAdmin already.

@namecrane 's CraneMail is the new kid on the block, also good so far. Sleek and shiny and polished. No complaints so far but it's only been live a few weeks.

ProtonMail (paid) is also good, have been using it for years but you say it's too expensive.

I use all of the above for different things. ProtonMail for my personal email, MXRoute for business email, NameCrane for network NOC and new business project email.

We're slowly but surely getting MyPrivateInbox ready, which is going to be more privacy focused and be EU based, but probably also out of your budget unless you don't mind a small plan.

  • People who are into this sort of thing might want to sign in to Spaceship and up-vote the feature request for a free mailbox. I think it already has a couple hundred votes but more wouldn't hurt.

  • @jar and @NameCrane are the best options.
MXRoute offers unlimited domains, and both have a quite good lifetime deal that may worth to check 🤗

Won't many services block such email services as part of anti-spam? I know Proton can still cause issues once in a while with that.

I'm in the same position. I'm looking for a private email service at an affordable price.

The top three that most people recommend are Proton, Tuta, and Mailbox. I've tried them all except Mailbox. They have similar prices, which are a bit expensive for my taste.

There's Disroot, which was recommended after those three. It's a non-profit with a donation system.

You might want to check out the Privacy Guides community, as they're more focused on privacy-related topics.

I'm currently using iCloud+ because I already subscribe to the $1 plan. It has support aliases with catch-all and Hide My Email (similar to SimpleLogin and Addy). In my experience, it's better than Outlook and Gmail.

After a year of research, I've found that good privacy and cheap service don't work together, at least for now. Not until there's more competitor to the top 3.

EDIT: TLDR: Try Disroot, privacy focused with donation.

  • I am using @jar's MXRoute services for more than a year and I'm really pleased with it. I got one lifetime and after he came with a flash offer last BF in 2023 I got the offer too, I couldn't resist.

Now I am using the email from @jar for business purposes but for personal use (and my family) too.

Can't be more happy with it, really recommend!

  • Huge love for @jar's MXRoute

I don't use disroot in part because of their overt political bias. I use tuta revolutionary and proton free (I hope to try out MyPrivateInbox from @MannDude also) and they serve me well.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I don't use Disroot because of that either. Free Tuta and Proton is great if you don't need custom domain 👍🏼

I am also interested in MyPrivateInbox.

How many domains and email addresses can you add in 1$ plan ?

  • Thanks everyone, just saw name crane post about their new email service. 10USD a year is very sweet deal. And free eM Client Pro license is also good. As of now since they offer integration with onlyoffice too na! I think they are perfect alternative to outlook. Maybe I will go with them.

And also looking forward to MyPrivateInbox. @MannDude Yeah I don't mind a small plan. My combined email storage till date is just 500MB, only thing I need is plenty of alias like min 10 to 20...

BTW do you have any estimated date of release??

Yeah they do cause, I was using posteo earlier, github was not sending login OTP's. But when I contacted their support team, they resolved it in under a week. I think the wait time is the TRUE price we are paying for privacy!!

  • MX Route bro. I've been with them for 6 months and had NO issue so far. Reliable and affordable.

3 domain per Apple account, you can invite others Apple user with their own 3 domain.

Email address is unlimited, but you can only have 3 email for send/reply.

All plan have same feature, only different on storage.
