We have IMAP IDLE enabled so it should be pretty damn quick.

    Francisco

No IMAP IDLE support on iOS.

For push on iOS you will need to use a third party app that stays logged into your account on their server to watch for emails. That service would then send a push to your device for each new message.

If memory serves, Outlook mobile does this fine-ish. There are sometimes where you feed the app a new mail server and it ignores you, uses what is cached on their server, and just doesn’t work for like a week after you migrate email services so beware of that. I don’t hear about it much anymore so maybe it’s solved.

A lot of them use the same test kits. You may get emails about 'FRESH CPANEL EMAIL (in your neighborhood)' and it's always the same tools they use to test it.

We catch enough other ways that it's likely not an issue. That, or we just make it where a user can send it a few times before we snap down on it. Right now a single occurrence was enough to trip it.

Are placeholder Domains or subdomains available if I just want to use some of the 100GB file space for backup ? Like clientname.workspace.org ? Or must bring own domain

(No mail sending in this case)

Sorry, our queue was ~150 tickets yesterday even with Mike & I working all day. I'm chewing it down pretty good.

Spamexperts doesn't group it properly on outgoing which is annoying. We have the records on the master account though.

    @JoseDieguez said: when hostbill addon?

I would have to get a development license I guess? Is there any interest/demand for this?

Nothing at the moment. Main concern with giving *.workspace.org would be spam or malware off it.

I'll talk with Mike about it.

    Understandable

    @Francisco said: I don't think it's a bug, I think it's just for privacy.

Is it also missing file extension ? I think that might be bug part The filename privacy is fine but if it is just serving a random name with no extension it is pretty bad UX for the downloader

I'll check for non videos (maybe videos are different), but I do know the videos didn't have an ext.

@Francisco so as this evolves, does the lifetime deal get the new features?

They will get the same perks as any other non reseller user. We have no reason to knee cap that.

So reseller users won't get the same features?
I am currently considering buying a reseller package

The resellers will get the same feature set, plus more controls for the purpose of reselling.

The reply was to a person asking about lifetime deals getting new features/etc - the lifetimes and annual/triennial discounted plan are considered standard/non-reseller plans, so they're already limited in some features vs resellers.

To expand on this. Some features will be blocked because they aren't needed for non resellers (like branding workspace.org, resource limits, toggling features on/off, our API & billing modules, etc).

We'll include all features when possible when it makes sense. Sometimes it doesn't make sense (or would promote the product be used in unintended ways (like reselling on the lifetimes)).

We want to give Resellers as many opportunities to upsell to their clients as we can.

    like branding workspace.org

Is that something you are open to be flexible about? Even as a non reseller, it will be nice to have custom branding aligning to each entity / domain when someone is using for a small business use.

Ability to upload business logo, text which says welcome to domain inc mailbox and choose the background will be much appreciated.

Well, you can do it with the SM webmail page, unless you really want it on workspace.org's login.

I'm not against opening it to normies, but wasn't planning on it.

No files have extensions when downloaded. So for example myawesomefile.exe gets turned into fjhaekr141 or catskittykits.png into ahfkljah

You'd want to ensure it's enabled for that account in the Domain Settings first.

Tuned a few things related to outbound delivery times. Testing messages to gmail/etc seems to deliver in around 9-10 seconds now, vs 15-20 previously.

  • Bitdefender was blocking workspace.org with its anti-phishing module, and there was no way to whitelist it. I submitted a ticket to them last week, and they reviewed it and unblocked it globally.

    Hero! Thank you

I think the domain sat with some parking ads for awhile before we bought it - not sure there was much malicious stuff, didn't do a full dive on every archive though.

Just noteworthy that if you're forwarding emails to Gmail and you need them quickly, like for expiring 2FA codes or something, make sure you keep that inbound spam filtering set well. It's impossible to filter outbound for a reject/accept 1:1 what Google will, and they now rate limit by SPF/DKIM domain. So the less spam your domain forwards to them, the faster every email will get there (on average). Not something that can be overcome with IP reputation anymore.

Yeah we ran into that with some shared/reseller customers and have forced more than a few to enable SpamExperts for their domains so it'll filter out junk on their catch-alls before forwarding on.

Issue here in particular was some extra AV/outbound filtering that was happening node-side, which is redundant and worse than what the relays are doing anyways.

  • @Francisco I am interested in buying your lifetime plan, but is it possible for me to buy 2 of your 250gb plan and can you combine the storage for me ?
Or do you have any plan with higher storage with lifetime deal ?

Yeah, we can combine the lifetimes. Just order multiple and then drop a ticket to sales and I'll combine them for you.

Try not to add domains, or only add them to 1 of the accounts until the merge is done.

i largely agree. but branding would also be interesting for non-resellers. why? if, for example, you rely on your mail solution for your family, then it would also make sense to use branding options.

Fair enough, well given branding to the non resellers too.

Yeah. If you stack them we double the storage and domain count as well though.

Any way to disable the background image on login page?

Looks like I'm only able to add logo, some text and html.
