When you try to order a KS, you can't choose more than two units now.

For KS-A at least, that has always been the case. It was two servers max per order, as far as I can remember.
I think what OVH wants to implement, which existed back when they were selling $2-$3 shitboxes, is really max two cheap servers per account, not only per order. That would kind of solve the issue of stock running out in minutes, but I'm sure someone would still find the way to be late.

seems like they forgot to put disks in!

Test has been done inside rescue mode:

    lsblk
NAME MAJ:MIN RM SIZE RO TYPE MOUNTPOINT
    sda 8:0 0 447.1G 0 disk
    sdb 8:16 0 447.1G 0 disk

At least it has iGPU, but since it is a no lotto server, for sure a refund.

  • @yopp said: Why do you think it will be restocked at 1PM UTC?

This is pure speculation; however, if I was running OVH, I would have waited for the 2 KS limitation to be in place before reopening the offers; otherwise, the same problem would have arisen. Additionally, my second assumption about the time of day is that I have the impression that available units are added to the stock around 2 PM (French time, or 1 PM UTC), this is the same when there are flash sales, or new offers, I have the impression they go live at that time. But again, this is only my own loose observation.

I got one from RBX and it didn't had lotto either, so probably depends on location.

Funny enough KS-LE-1 from BF sale 2 years ago had same CPU, 32 DD3 Non-ECC Ram, Same disk options (2x480 SSD or 2x2TB HDD or smth) were costing a bit more. 2 years later they offer the same with half ram and half disk size, if you are not a lotto winner.

I just realized that, I bought the exact same server from 2 years ago, just it costs few euros less each month.

  • On US account, if server have some problem, is possible to get refund including install fee?

  • I got one from RBX and it didn't had lotto either, so probably depends on location.

after 3 weeks of waiting last Saturday got my ks-le-e delivered in rbx. Got a slightly improved cpu but also an additional 2x480 GB NVMe drives on top of the 2x4 TB hard drives (though I ordered 4x2 TB hard drives, but I am not complaining 😀)

Give it a try. A genuine issue could warrant a full refund if asked nicely.
Threats to dispute/ shame usually may not lead to a favorable response

Let us know how it goes.

In real English, sorry is like hey. You say / write it, but you don't mean it.

    Sorry! (not actually sorry)

I actually might keep the EX44 instead of the Advance-1

I don’t regret the purchase because I’ve been working all day with trying to find the best solution

And all of this made me find this: https://docs.hetzner.com/cloud/networks/connect-dedi-vswitch/

Hetzner’s failover IPs are annoying and routed through the main IP. Hetzner’s additional IP’s aren’t flexible enough. OVH’s additional IP’s are much better.

But, I don’t mind a few ms delay on datafetching. That means that I can have a Cloud VMs in Helsinki with permanent primary IPs. It/they send requests on behalf of my EX44, and the actual compute occurs on the dedi. Dedi changing IP’s won’t matter since the whitelisted stuff will go through private network > wireguard on VM > internet.

Will continue looking into this tomorrow.

If I’m right I might just do a giveaway for almost a full month of 25 Gbit Advance-1. We’ll see.
