@jar any coupon codes to upgrade reseller packages ?
Not sure if this has been asked before, but, are the prices recurring?
Yes
Thank you for confirming. Was planning to setup my own mail server. But, since these prices are extremely cheap, might as well leave it to the pros for a small fee.
For mails, its better to leave them to pros.
Yah remember I had a hard time setting a client and server with Dovecot and Postfix, using Thunderbird as my client. Not going back to that ever again. A pro email server is the way to go.
I really didn't need one, but I grabbed one anyway!
I picked up a 100G yesterday which I really don't need but more than happy to support @jar.
Not sure if transfers are allowed, if they are I may put my BF2023 Medium up at some point once I have transferred everything.
@jar are service transfers allowed if yes what are requirements for both the parties? I have multiple mxroute flash sale plans even though I only have one domain 🤣
To be clear I don’t want our hands forced into doing a lot of manual work for scalpers, who I know were watching that flash sale and might have gathered a bunch. I know that’s not you, but if I just directly say yes that’s a screenshot giving them the go ahead to make us do work for them when I’ve gone out of my way to reduce workloads caused by promos.
So instead of yes I will say “perhaps, situationally, we can talk about it via ticket.” If that works for you 💜
Fair enough. IMO, no transfer for promo stuff and I hope all providers do that.
IMHO it can be case by case basis than a blanket yes / no.
Like if someone have both 3/3 10GB or 10/3 25GB if they were quick enough to grab both and wanna let go of one to someone who is looking for one of the deals (not to resell but for own use) - will be nice to have it allowed than let the service idle
Edit - the more i think about it, effort required doesn't justify for such small $ amount.
I honestly think that would be completely fair. I said about transferring my BF 2023 deal above as I felt like it'd be giving back to LET, but now I have thought about it more I think it's honestly better to let it idle/die as that better supports an amazing provider who has provided my a service worth way more than I have paid for it.
May be a rule that transfers are not allowed beyond original cost so that no one is getting advantage of scalping? But i dunno how it can be enforced if / when both parties fake it
I completely agree with case-by-case basis. But I don't think keep service idling will be a support to provider. No one want to sell what user don't use, they will want to serve more users, it will make the service & the provider better in the future. And transferring to someone can use it effectively is a part of it.
I mean...
Should not have asked this here sorry @jar
Just for learning @jar ,
The SPF of MXRoute is chained like:
mxlogin.com > _s00002163.mxroute.com > mxroute.com > spf-c.mailbaby.net > _spf-c_flat.mailbaby.net > forward.mxroute.com
This is increasing DNS Lookup Count & exceeding 10 Lookups may result into "permerror". We might need to use some more providers. Is there any way at your end to optimize your SPF to what extend it can be done ?
You can use an SPF flattening service like autospf. I feel our number of lookups is fair, though can be optimized a little. Most use include:mxroute.com.
@jar will this offer be up tomorrow btw? I'm not sure will I have time to purchase today.
That's mostly up to everyone else
Sorry, didn't get it? I'm referring to Small - $15 / 3 years package.
If everyone orders them all today, they won't be available tomorrow. They probably won't, I'm not the new toy on the block and it's not 16TB of data for $1/decade.
Yes, replaced mxlogin.com with mxroute.com & I got in limit
I think keeping a service idling very much supports the provider. You don't actually think @jar has disks idling with enough disk space for everyone to go fill their quote right this second do you? He absolutely knows usage patterns and how much a user will actually use on average and can make decisions based on that. Similar with other resources. Me keeping my account and not using any space gives MXroute money and they don't have to buy any hardware to support me.
I definitely oversell disk space. Though I’ve learned to try not to oversell massive servers quite as much. Longer fsck, longer recovery times, longer raid sync, apps taking loads larger than the biggest orgy on pornhub. A giant mail server going down takes out a lot more end users on average than say a VPS node.
I have been very happy with the $15/3y I picked up during BF 2023. Jar and his team are always willing to answer my dumb question via discord or support ticket. I'm tempted to pick up a second plan for a different project!
+1 for MXRoute, jarland and the team rock.
This actually is insane offer, thanks bro!
Nice to see you @Asim!
