    Hello, there were indeed issues that affected some customers in some nodes in few clusters.

    Again, downplaying - downplaying - downplaying. "Some customers, some nodes, few clusters". So people who had 3 VPS servers in 3 locations who all were down were "extremely unlucky"? Don't believe in that coincidence at all. I'm getting "C1V vibes" here.

    From our side, once we found the root cause of the issue in the hypervisor, the team worked hard over the weekend to make the changes in all our nodes and clusters worldwide and inform customers immediately.

    Inform customers? Not really. No mail, nothing on website, only after hours a small message here but not really a progress update, and when you think it's solved coming with a solution that is impossible for quite a number of customers to apply because your portal is down for them.

    The thing that is really stressed are your "clusters".

    We know that some customers were stressed because their service didn't work and we're very compassionate to this, and upset of that issue on the hypervisor.

    I don't think people are all stressed. They are pissed. Because of your bold statements and promises and, when problems occur, the problems are big and take forever to communicate and solve.

    We're committed, passionate and obsessed to provide a good service and we'll never stop until every single customer has the most reliable service.

    OK - if you do, then promise here that every unhappy customer that lost trust in you is entitled to a refund after what happened this weekend.

    BTW: Frankfurt VPS is unreachable again for about 3 hours now. Reboot didn't solve it. So not all is well - at all. Now that's funny, looking in the portal it reports 130 MB/s 1040 (Mbps) as network rate, although the VPS only should/will do very limited network activity, and the graph of the network activity is empty. It's pointing at the network card again...

    Yup, according to my status page Frankfurt has been up and down like a yoyo all day.

  • My Frankfurt VPS survived the weekend with only 10 minutes of downtime but now it's down for 3 hours and counting...

    What I don't get, is why they're still allowed to sell here. They either can't manage their systems or it's about to deadpool so fast because they planned to take the money and run, but they're still selling like hotcakes, ignoring refund and support requests.

    What's even crazier is that people here are defending them at the same time... like, yeah, OK, it's cheap, we get that, but if you advertise high availability VPS', you'd expect them to at least have the uptime of a standard server. An item being cheap doesn't mean it just shouldn't work.

    That's true, I have couple 10/year servers which hold close to 100% uptime and that's because the nodes properly managed and not oversold. That means happy customers and no heap of support tickets for the provider.

    Update for Frankfurt

    3 nodes in Frankfurt were affected by an attack. We're updating our DDoS filters. Also, Proxmox on Frankfurt cluster will be upgraded this week.

    All other nodes in Frankfurt and all other regions remain unaffected and fully operational.

    Yeah exactly. We have had some servers with the likes of ChicagoVPS that have been going since 2014. $12 a year that maybe have 15 minutes of downtime a year if that.

    Update for Frankfurt - Services restored

    The 3 Frankfurt nodes and the VPSes that were affected are back. Additionally, advanced DDoS protection has been enabled in Frankfurt via Path.

    In case you're still facing issues or you need more detailed information, please submit a ticket.

    @MassiveGRID. Ticket #273149 created yesterday - NY.

    I had been waiting for portal to come back online and I just logged in, restarted the vps, and still no SSH or ping to my assigned ip.

    I used VNC console from the portal, and I can not ping 1.1.1.1 from the vps, network is unreachable from VNC terminal.

    I also encountered that problem. For me picking the "hard reset" option in the VNC "slide in" menu did it.

    @Calypso

    I clicked 'Thanks' because I largely agree with your post.

    @MassiveGRID

    Stop the 'HA' BS already, all it does is to increase expectations - which you obviously can't meet.

    @All

    Forget about the 'HA' BS! With a real HA provider even a few minutes down-time would be a disaster. Maybe MG actually does have some HA products, Idk, but the ridiculously cheap promo VPS we all purchased definitely - and obviously! - is not HA!

    What it actually is, is a halfway decent VPS at a ridiculously low price. The disk is crappy but the traffic volume is very high and processor and memory are decent, even great for the price. So, all in all in my eyes it is a good deal, and even more so as we now know that MG actually bends over to provide good support, even during weekends.

    But one thing it bloody obviously is not: it's not HA!

  • @MassiveGRID Hi, Thanks for great deal. First time i am buying vps to learn how things work. Great deal. Best deal i could find on blackfriday. excited to start vps journey.

    For EU customers we're obliged to collect VAT (around 20% depends on the country of the customer). If you have a business VAT ID, we don't need to collect VAT.

    Clear. Thank you for the explanation. (Indeed I submitted my VAT ID).

    BTW. Can I also have the 4th year extension and price lock? Order is 6576318013.
    (Under billing it still mentions next due date in 2027 instead of 2028)

    Bonus applied! due date extended to 2028. Please check and let us know :smile:
