Just bought the lifetime deal too
eM Client Pro Surprisingly good experience,While something like Outlook would be better, I'm quite happy with it as an option to avoid vendor lock-in.
The actual experience with webmail has also been more than expected, and I think will will slowly migrate the domains over in a few months and enjoy this.
One good deal, nothing to complain about.
As a buyvm user for several years, thanks for this great program, sometimes you just don't want to be with the giants, but can't let go of the user experience, now at least we have a great backup plan
Great deal, looking forward to using the lifetime package!
Does namecrane also have the smartermail EAS add on?
What about the cyren security and message sniffer add ons out of curiosity, not sure if it's needed with spam experts.
As mentioned before SRS doesn't seem to be available yet.
recommended service? @ehab @emgh @Mumbly ( @jar
)
believe it or not i never had a service from Fran
but did recommend a friend for shared hosting and he was happy
so -- go ahead he is an old timer in LET and gets horny on strange things.
if i order lifetime now, can it be moved to europe in early 2025?
Can file-storage add online preview function? I hope at least pictures and txt can be previewed.
To others: please note this system is different. This is not DirectAdmin or cPanel like great MXRoute offers. This is a completely different interface. Some features like Email Forwarding or Cath-All are not straightforward to configure.
This new system is snappy and completely different, but if one gets used with it, it can work great. If one clicks on the question marks, they are redirected to a page with information on what that feature does and how it is setup. There is quite some reading involved for the geeks who try to understand the inner concepts of every feature or page. To me this is highly important, because this whole system is very different from what an average easy consumer is used to (like with cPanel or DirectAdmin)
On a personal note: I am not a fan of lifetimes considering the failures of lifetimes so far in the past and how technology evolves while new offers always pop up. I believe every lifetime offer should be extremely limited, otherwise support (and potential abuse) will eat that business alive in the long run.
I am a bit curious how many lifetimes were sold so far, but I guess such info could be confidential.
I believe I shall vote for this provider at the provider's poll next year. This is not because of lifetime offers (of which I am skeptical), but because of all the work trying to bring something new to the computing market. All the new stuff released is not always a guaranteed success, but designers and devops have to try and innovate something, for the sake of our evolution. For this, I can't simply ignore the work of this new kid on the block (Namecrane). This is why I shall vote for them, since they try to bring something new to the table. It is an effort and a work.
@default namecranemail is based on what system if it is not based on DA or cpanel? is it a complete in-house development?
Not sure about count of the LT deal but I am a prospective customer holding back due to mainly 2 reasons you mentioned
1) unsure of interface & feature set to see if it’s a right fit compared to what we are used to. Waiting for a demo instance to get a good feel of the new system
2) no refund / no changes possible to LT deal.
I think many here (atleast myself) would had done usual approach of buy first and think later if refund flexibility is available even for say 72-96 hrs post purchase (just enough time to test / taste the new system)
Having said all this, offer is compelling
kudos to new provider
I guess this - https://www.smartertools.com/smartermail/business-email-server
I asked this too in this morning, check some replies behind.

??
@Francisco is it possible to upgrade for a litte $ (lifetime) when namecranemail will be available in europe? i have already bought the “normal” lifetime plan.
Export Zone File is very useful. Otherwise, setting up DNS is really troublesome.
What about the cyren security and message sniffer add ons out of curiosity, not sure if it's needed with spam experts.
SRS is enabled.... I just forced a 'propagate' on it, let me know.
We don't offer EAS since it's charged per year, per inbox. I think $5/year/user.
We have MAPI & EWS which works really nicely with desktop outlook.
Cranemail is based on Smartermail for the mailserver itself. All of the 'cranemail portal' options you find inside of our billing system I personally built over the last few weeks.
We'll be expanding it quickly over the coming days/weeks to cover some of the missing features (impersonation being the big one so far). Mike has brought up bringing most of the 'domain controls' right into that portal as well, to save people from having to login to the postmaster account.
As in add an option for that? Another user brought that up last night, especially for Cloudflare users.
Francisco
is it possible to integrate https://github.com/simple-login/ ?
want to mail service that can use own pre-create user,aliases at the same time.(maybe even plus catch all,but I am confused since this makes simplelogin/alias useless because I already someone spamming me by sending emails to random users,and my catch-all just forwarded it to me)
update:oops,didn't notice someone already post this ideas
Yea few of us (already posted about it) wanna know if namecrane can provide SL/ anon-addy features out of the box or can be integrated & maintained with minimal setup.
@Francisco said he will play around and keep us posted. I am waiting for result before clicking the buy button
You can always use the disposable email option inside webmail.
How would you see us integrating this simple login system? Does it even support multi tenant? It’s 6am so I’m still half asleep here.
Francisco
I quickly skimmed through smartermail documentation - per what I understand “disposable email” implementation in smartermail comes with a max 24 hr lifespan. You can manually extend it to few hours beyond 24hr mark but that’s it. Correct me if my understanding is wrong.
Hence disposable mail act more like 10minutemail or similar. The 24hr constraint doesn’t allow it to be used as a proper alias.
Catch all forwarding solves the alias on the fly problem to a great extend and if we can somehow get composing the email also done (ie [email protected] can send as *@domain.com)
Regarding SimpleLogin - I guess it supports multitenancy as protonmail acquired it (commercial side) and is distributing it for all proton users.
@Francisco statement please?!
We aren’t migrating data between regions. It’s so much work for a plan that we get a one off of.
If that’s a problem then relax until we roll out over there.
Francisco
Where are the reseller hosting discounts?
@Francisco
I have purchased and waiting for activation, invoice #13739
thanks namecrane
@Francisco
the limits are no of emails per inbox per domain or
no of emails per domain
SimpleLogin allows the use of RegEx to specify valid formats for automatic alias creation upon receiving emails. It's like having a catch-all, but only for the specified format.
shit. bought already the offered lifetime. this is usa based, right?
I can't get out of this now and have to keep the usa lifetime, correct?
@COLBYLICIOUS you are lucky while you did not bought a lifetime. grrr
@Francisco can some one from crane assist me here. I switched over my email to this service today and kinda stuck for using the service. This is not the issue for first service that I bought where we had to register giving a primary domain. There everything worked fine and SSL certs also created successfully for the mail.. But in the new service, I added the domain after purchasing. Is there some issue here? I enabled spamexperts too.
Thanks, @NameCrane , while add sub domain as aliases , receiving email is not an issue since we have the mx setup for sub domain, however it for client like mutt will enforce the sender has to be same as login user
(e.g i want to use sub domain (aliases) [email protected] rather [email protected] )
is there anyway in the system to configure the SMTP service to have more relaxed restrictions on the From address?
