Bought one. Can I use it to send transactional emails via SMTP? Trying to figure it out but still have no idea how to use it coming from MXroute.

I guess in one of the messages Francisco mentioned that transactionals are okay and is being used for sending invoices, etc., of course within plan limits.

If I buy the lifetime plan which is on US right now, can you setup me on EU when it gets available?

And no, I will not buy another lifetime, I just want to buy one right now just for the price.

Same here. Will just buy one and keep it as-it-is and actually start using it when EU becomes available. So no need to transfer data, etc. Just move us to EU node when available in future.

They already said no , apperantly eu will be more expensive

Well then they will lose some possible customers, including me.

Curious on why the obsession with EU wrt emails (assuming plan is used for email and not just as a WebDAV drive)? GDPR compliance for business reasons? Or personal privacy reasons to stay away from NSA?

Not really the GDPR thing but most likely the lower ping and better speeds for EU people when downloading things from storage for example.

Correct. EU will cost more. Not some huge amount, but some.

    Lifetimes will be available then.

In your opinion, why is it better to pick EU more expensive than US which is cheaper now?

It's more expensive to operate there. These storage nodes are chunky and gobble power.

If it's a problem then I wish you all the best :) We're doing our best to offer some kickass pricing on a pretty good product.

How soon will the EU launch? The EU is a very good choice for privacy storage.

Incoming right? Are you using Spamexperts? If you aren't, Greylisting is enabled by default on Smartermail and that's usually a 15 minute timer.

    OK here?

There was some issues in LA earlier in the day. Maybe it affected some of HE's capacity?

Sorry about that. I presume it might be an issue from Cloudflare or someone else. Thanks for the novel mailbox, and I love it.

    Hi
    Can this use outlook?
Is there a tutorial for using this email with outlook?

    up

    Yep, works perfect.

I just finished putting together a Connection Guide for POP/IMAP/CALDAV/etc.

I recommend setting up the autodiscover DNS record when you move your domains over that way you don't have to do any tinkering in your client. It just works.

    Neat.

It's actually even better since we have MAPI :)

Outlook is a 1st class citizen. eM Client is also available for free (for 3 devices).

  • @Francisco there are couple of tickets open. 6432 & 6437.
If someone could look into & unblock me, would be great.

@ypmLA77zcs said: Would it have not failed if I used a VPN to masquerade my location to back home?

Probably not if it's a full connection VPN (wireguard, etc). In that case we'd see the IP on our billing as your home IP. That's why 'residential proxies' are a thing.

So you suggest I try to reorder using a VPN?

  • @Francisco @NameCrane Any chance of enabling SRS for forwarded emails?

Currently when a user enables forwarding:

    • if "Keep original sender" is enabled, the forwarded message goes missing.
    • if "Keep original sender" is disabled, the forwarded message arrives, but sent from the mailbox address so you have no idea who originally sent it.

It seems the Smartermail Alias function can only deliver to a local mailbox and can't be used as a psuedo forwarder, not sure if that's what others have found as well?

  • There goes my $69.42,

I hope you can use it for your future investment.

    Regards,
    me, a lifetime deals addict
