There are this year indeed no HDD storage plans.
We've stopped offering these with Black Friday to ensure service quality, as too many people where overloading the platform past years by running constant benchmarks and heavy IO utilization (torrenting for example) and not realizing what the side affects on the storage layer are during such a busy period at this time of the year.
We don't want to deal with a wave complaints and/or poor service expectations due to a handful of customers abusing the storage layer on our HDD nodes
But we'll review all your requests for HDD storage VPSes internally, to see what we can offer at other moments or next year. But the fact is, spinning storage is slow - especially when people go full throttle and abuse the platform.
